Dragster Shut down

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

I just checked out the webcam at http://www.cleveland.com/cedarpointcam/ ... /video.ssf . As CoasterDude316 stated, it does look like TTD is back up and running, although I can't tell if there are riders on it or if it's still testing.

Looking at the webcam at night, the section of the park looks great. Also, on Cedar Point's TTD website, http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/news/ttdstatus.cfm, the report states that TTD is scheduled to be in operation today. The website also states the future closings will be updated on the site.

I'm going to be at the park Friday and Saturday as well. I was starting to get nervous but CP pulled through.

You know, even if it reopens, it will still probably be unreliable. If you don't get on it, don't let it ruin your fun. It was closed both days I was there, and I still had a great time. On the bright side of it being closed, I didn't have to wait in line for it.

I'm not sure if the TTD Status Report on CedarPoint.com is close to real-time or not, but once again the Status Report shows that TTD is currently not in operation.

Well just listening to various reports from the park the last few days, it doesn't sound that reliable at all.

It isn't reliable at all, just like most prototypes.

And it looks like there was again some significant downtime yesterday. Hope for all of you that are travelling there that you get a ride.

It looks like TTD won't be open until the July 4th weekend(if it will open up at all). The Status Report states that it's not a guarantee that it'll open at that time, but CP is working around the clock on TTD.

I rode it a week ago today and that is the last day it has operated. I feel pretty lucky! But before the park opened they said that it would be closed. So we saw it testing a while in Raptors line. So then we headed over there and sure enough it opened. It was open for about 7 hours that day with few 1/2 hour breakdowns. We waited 75 minutes the first time and 3 hours the second time (becuase of 2 half hour breakdowns). GOOD LUCK. My advise is if you see it testing for a while or people on it go get in line no matter what. Don't rely on another day becuase it probably won't be open.

Check out the interview on VirtualMidway.com. Cedar Point has said if they can't get Top Thrill Dragster working by mid-july, they will shut it down for the rest of the year and reopen it next season. Sounds like Deja Vu has some competition for downtime :).

We were planning to go to Florida the week of July 13, but my parents said we could probably change our plans and go to Ohio instead. But I'd probably only go if TTD is open, that's one of the main reasons why I wanna go to Ohio. I just don't wanna go there when TTD is closed. I dunno though, I'm so anxious to go cause Ohio has more coasters than Florida does... and they all look sweet.

My advice is don't plan your trip around TTD. It will only make you mad. If you haven't been to CP yet. I would go there becuase of Millennium Force and all of there other rides. But that is my opinion.

Yeah, I know. All the other coasters look pretty awesome, the ones at CP, PKI, and SFWOA. If we do go I just hope we can make it to all of the parks and even go to CP 2 or 3 times.
