Flashback SFMM

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby w00dland on October 28th, 2005, 3:48 pm
I've read that Tower hasn't operated at SFMM in years because of some sort of saftey issue. Flashback doesn't even have power heading to it right now so don't expect that to open ever again.

Then why would it still be listed on SFMM's site if they're just going to abandon it?

Cause technically since its still there they can still list it. And look at how rusty it is http://www.rcdb.com/ig128.htm?picture=2

I'm surprised they're allowing it to happen.

I wouldn't go on a coaster that is that rusty. I don't think they will do anything with it for awhile. Maybe after Tatsu goes up they'll get rid of it but who knows atm.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

If cedar point builds something Cp will have 17 rides then sfmm will keep it. Nothing else except a mouse coaster would fit into its spot. I think they should restore it like they did with whizzer. I just checked and sfmm doesnt have a wild mouse. They dont cost that much and it would be a nicer greeting to the park than a rusting ride.

It's spelled WHIZZER. And when did it get a restoration?

The park needs to spend some time and money cleaning up the park and getting it running in good condition again. I think once they realize this and act on it, that will be when we see Flashback go. I like both ideas of the Wild Mouse of the Water Coaster, by the way.

Shouldnt it say "Please excuse our mess were to lazy to do anything about this ride." How does sign mean anything about the ride not operating?

That pic is very old, from 1997, but as of 2001 it hadnt been repainted and looked 10x worse(and it rides as bad as it looks), and I'm pretty sure it hasnt been repainted since then seeing how it has barely operated.

^ It has to be 2004 or 2005, I see Mr. Six on the green banner at the left of the picture.

On the website it doesnt say anything about it not operating. http://www.sixflags.com/parks/magicmoun ... hback.html I guess it not operating is kind of like dejavu not operating for an extended period of time.

That small pic that was posted is recent, but the link to a larger picture

http://www.rcdb.com/ig128.htm?picture=2

It is clearly from Joe Schwartz's site and is dated 1997.

Since the water park isnt open from now till memorial day wouldnt it be worthwile for sfmm to operate flashback. If it was open I think people would want to ride it.
