No seriously, I'm jumping on the Busch Gardens bandwagon here. I love Montu, it's my favorite coaster so far, and I think they have a good selection of coasters. Of course, this is speaking from experience, which I have none of when it comes to the other parks...So until I go to Cedar Point and MM, Gotta go with BG..
Have a take and don't suck, it's the Jim Rome Show!
I voted for Kings Island. Of the two parks on the list (the other being Cedar Point), I feel as though Kings Islands coasters are better. Even though Maverick at CP is my favorite coaster, top to bottom, I think KIs coasters are better.
Personally the top FOUR lineups on Earth are SFMM, SFGAdv,SFGAm, & CP. SFGAm is one of the best not only due to coasters, but flats, kid sections(welll....), & shows, etc.
SFGAdv, SFMM, & CP have all the "badass" big boys & girls. In that whole assortment were lookin at Tatsu, Apocalypse, DejaVu, ElToro, Bizarro, KingDa Ka, TTD, Millennium, Maverick, SEFK, Riddler, the BTRs, Green Lantern/GL:FF, Superman: UF, Nitro, Goliath, Magnum XL200, so on & so on. Ugh. I just wish SF were more like Merlin/Tusseuads Group(AT/TP) giving us more themed/storylined attractions.
Yeah, where's SF Great America??? Seriously, we are blessed to have one of the very last operating Schwarzkopf speed racers in existance (Whizzer), 3 good wooden coasters that don't beat the crap out of you (when many parks don't even have one good wooden coaster), the largest double wooden racing coaster in the world, the first B&M coaster ever, the first suspended B&M coaster in the world, an good classic Arrow looper that still offers a good and fun ride, a flying coaster, and the first B&M hypertwister coaster, too. Plus- I know it's not a coaster, but Yankee Clipper is the last flume ride of it's kind still operating that I'm aware of. I'd say that's a pretty unique and decent collection of rides no other park has.
This for me is the easiest question ever. It has to be Magic Mountain. The rides I really like there are Batman the Ride, Scream!, Riddler's Revenge, Deja Vu, Collossus, X2, Goldrusher, and Ninja. That's 8 there. That's the most coasters at a park I like. And I haven't even been on Tatsu, or Revolution because of construction. Most definitely, I don't see why I wouldn't like Tatsu. So, that could potentially be 9 great coasters for me at a park. For Terminator, that was the year after I went it opened.
Now for worst flat park, that would be Magic Mountain!
Six Flags Over Texas for me is second best with great rides of mine are Shockwave, La Vibora, Mr. Freeze, Flashback, Judge Roy Scream, Mine Train, Runaway Mountain, and Batman the Ride. I haven't been on the new Texas Giant though which does look better than the old junky version.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
My personal favorite would probably be Six Flags Over Texas. Not a bad one in the bunch (though I missed the Boomerang), and I thought it had a good variety of rides. Mr. Freeze and Shockwave are great, the original mine train is one of the better ones out there, La Vibora and Runaway Mountain were both surprisingly fun, etc. And now it looks like they've changed Texas Giant for the better, so there's that too! The atmosphere, too, is great and the park has a certain character to it that I really appreciated.
Cedar Point's collection is alright. Maverick is my favorite steel coaster, and I also love Raptor, Gemini, TTD, and even Magnum and Blue Streak but most of the rest come off as filler to me. Used to love Wicked Twister but on my last visit I could barely fit on it at all, it was really uncomfortable, which is weird because I've always been able to ride V2 just fine. Also, dealing with the unnecessary seatbelt shenanigans at MF and TTD is just annoying. I think that MF is one of the most overrated rides I've ever been on, but I do admit that it has grown on me over time, especially in the front row.
I don't think Kings Island should be on the list. Although the park is really nice, outside of the Beast the rides were at best average, in my opinion, and many of them were flat out painful. Honestly, outside of the Beast my second favorite ride was probably the Invertigo, or maybe even the mine train (though the ending kills what is otherwise a great ride). Of the larger parks I've been to, I think only Kentucky Kingdom had a worse coaster collection.
Holiday World has a great collection of wooden coasters but it is also out of place a bit on this list.
Aw damn, thats sad you feel that way :/ haha because I love KI. I went there as much as I could when I worked CP cause I like it way more than CP
Adventure Express & Backlot are awesome family coasters that for one, AEx is way better than CP's mine train coaster but again both are in ways interactive & fun throughout the whole ride.
Beast & Diamondback are the bad boys. I think DB is fantastic, esp in the front with the ejector air, truly just love that ride. Beast speaks for itself in terms of wth is goin on-nness, its obv best at night where it seems to become a totally different coaster!
Firehawk I have to say, just like all Vekoma flyers have great layouts but yes, its uncomfortable but the layout wins it over.
FOF is killer until sadly yes it hits the MCBR. If it doesnt halt it, then the ride is incredible.
Flight Deck is an intense old school suspended when its travelin through that valley, freakin awesome.
Invertigo makes me laugh & is interactive the way you face each other, makes the ride more enjoyable. Drop Zone/Tower is just bliss. Its simple & great.
Lastly, SonofBeast..... i oddly am in love with this torture machine. My ex & I couldnt get enough of this ride & I miss it dearly. Its so aggressive & powerful. but I gotta say, after naming it the lovechild of Beast, it should have followed "his" characteristics. Meaning it was in a def need of a tunnel in that rosebowl element.
I reccently posted my opinion on the "Great Adventure vs. Magic Mountain" debate on the "Planet Six" forum and I thought I'd share it here.
Great Adventure - Magic Mountain El Toro > Apocolypse - My 1 and 2 woodies. El Toro edges it out by just a little because of how nice the rcoaster looks and rides. Very Close. Rolling Thunder < Colossus - Colossus is a nice and fun woodie, and Rolling Thunder is just way to rough. Batman (GADV) < Batman (SFMM) - the area around the SFMM Batman looks nicer and the blue paint job is better then yellow Bizarro > Scream - They are similar coasters but Bizarro is better themed and the fire/fog effects are awesome. Scream is rough. Green Lantern = Riddler's Revenge - I havent rode the stand up GL yet so I cant make the call. It'd be close. Kingda Ka > SFEK - Close but Ka is taller faster, and a more epic experiance. Superman: UF < Tatsu - Easiest one yet. Superman is solid but Tatsu is breath taking and the closest you'll probably ever get to flying. Nitro > Goliath - Goliath is decent but Nitro is one of the best B&M's and just is a great airtime machine.
In this count GADV beats Magic Mountain 4 - 3, but remember Im leaving out X2, Viper, Ninja, Green Lantern, Revolution, AND Deja Vu from Magic Mountian.
So overall Id say Magic Mountain has a amazing collection of solid coasters, and a few great coasters, but GADV has 4 Kick Ass coasters in my opinion being Nitro, El Toro, Bizarro, and Kingda Ka.
Its sort of close, but overall, MAGIC MOUNTAIN > GREAT ADVENTURE
Top 5: 1) El Toro. 2) Maverick. 3) Millenium Force. 4) Diamondback. 5) X2. Coaster Count: 167 (41 Wood, 125 Steel) @Coaster_Cole on Twitter
