Kentucky Kingdom Closure and Relocation Thread

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby onyxhotel08 on February 5th, 2010, 9:28 pm
St. Louis is the closest they will get something nice. Remember if Chang does come and hits the parking lot area, unless the go karts get canned, they will end up in the SWF area. Only logical spot for them.

^Being the closest park doesn't mean squat in the decision to re-locate rides.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

100% correct! Even if Great America is right next door, we probably wouldn't get anything.

They'll probably say Chang is a part of the closure, and that's why we only got Chang.

- BreakDance could go to St. Louis, or another park that doesn't a ride like this. Fiddler's Fling is similar I guess, so, I'll rule this out.

- Thunder Run will be smashed to bits. :(

- Roller Skater will most likely go to another park without a children's coaster, a park like St. louis doesn't have anything for small children, like this. Maybe no 42"?

- T2 will either be in storage until steel prices get higher, or will go to a park like TGE that really need an inverted coaster.

- Twisted Twins will be smashed to bits, as well, It really had no other future, did it?

- Road Runner Express will get the Dark Knight treatment, Maurer Söhne in a Box? Doesn't sound as cool as Mack in the Box. ;)

- Greezed Lightnin' will either return here, I wish! Or it could make it's way to the dumpster, SFA might be able to use it also.

- Bluebeard's Bounty will enjoy the dumpster.

- Tin Lizzie's cars could come over here, and they could finally use the second track, antique cars along side normal cars?

- Bumper Cars: I really have no idea, they could sell it to a fair company?

- Thrill Park Theater: yeah.

- The Giant Wheel could easily come over here.

The rest are mostly scrappable.

They did think about this earlier which is why they decided to keep Northwest Territory rotting away...

TiDal Wave, not TiTal. hha, I kid. Just make sure not to do it again!

To tell you the truth, with the noise V2 makes, adding TW might cause some problems with the residents.

I forgot about that Pirate ship they have. That could go to SFOG, or SFA.

The most important ride besides Chang I forgot is Deluge which is a water coaster - like a wooden coaster but you are in water. They could put it right there where Space Shuttle America was, and Go-Karts gone, and the waterpark is just a fence away from those Go-Karts. I never been on Deluge, but I really like the water coaster at Magic Waters.

Haven't been on Deluge, but if it's anything like the one at Magic Waters, I DON'T WANT IT! Most boring thing ever. :P

I honestly have a feeling we're getting T2. I don't know why, it's just that that SWF area is so empty and open for some lovin'. I wouldn't mind if they got new trains.

^Deluge was awesome, and my entire family had fun on it. It goes pretty fast and it is pretty tall. I would love if deluge came to SFGAm.

I don't want Deluge to come because I'm not much of a water ride person. I rode the flumes at the park 3 times in my 20+ visits.

T2? The one which was forgotten about and never got the Batman theming? Please, you have to be kidding. It is one ride NOT needed at Six Flags Great America.

T2 will head to the scrap heap. The ride has so many issues as it is, no seance is keeping it.

^ if it is true, and Iron Wolf isn't getting new trains, Chang will remain a stand-up. :(

If it does remain a stand-up, expect Raging Bull to remain best coaster in the park. ;/

I do have a feeling when Chang comes it will not be changed just themed better and painted. Wolf will stick around for a season or two and then be dismantled. Replaced by a Thomas Town or new major flat ride.

^The park could use a 4th kids area in one corner :D

^^Raging Bull is the best ride in the park? I missed that memo.

All I ask is a Screamin' Swing. Which SFKK won't give us. :?

I don't mind our flats. I think we have pretty unique ones as well, Ricochet, Fiddler's Fling, and Triple Play. Our water ride collection is also really great. Six Flags Great America doesn't really "need" anything at the moment, so anything we get over the next couple years are like presents :D
