New concrete footers at CP!

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby rct2wizard360 on May 30th, 2006, 10:08 pm
The main piece of speculation going around now is it will have a lift hill, and a launch later in the ride.

Sounds cool.

I'd ride it.

Well I figured the red would be a station area because of the amount of footers and equipment in that area. No where else in the perimeter has construction of that type.

Do you think that it could be at all possible, since it is cedar point, and you cant put ANYTHING past them, maybe the coaster could go out over the lake?!?

^It could but it most likely wont. Theres no construction going on in the lake, only that pond. We wouldve seen something by now if that was going to happen.

I read that book and did a book report on it for school when I was way younger

I personally think this will be an Intamin looper like people are saying...around 150' tall. Probably will break the inversion record, I imagine. We all know about CP and their records.

I hope not. An Intamin looper over 100 geet doesn't sound too safe for me..besides, no one's completley sure it is one yet. All we know is that it's Intamin.

Colossus at Thorpe is a really fun ride, record breaking inversion ride could be fun in fact.

also let me put it this way, what coaster does Cedar Point not have?
A flying coaster like superman. I think that what thet are going to put there.

also it has to be something pretty big since they were trying to hide the footers (or that is at least what rcdb said). So I say, its a B&M flyer, with the most inversions. Now thats cool.

sorry my bad. I skipped right to page 3. Probably should have red the past stuff.

Now that I look at the picture though, I am starting to see how you guys could think its a launched roller coaster.
We will have to see once we can see it being built.

Now why would they honestly insert another launch coaster on their property...I see no point. I mean lets look at Paramounts kings dominion or whatever....too many launchers....but then again why wouldnt I say that like...too many lift hill coasters. you know never mind, I just really see no point in another launcher at the point. :?

However, an aquatrax is likey but Id further more agree on the inversion record coaster. Whatever it is, its big and thats been established. Well see sooner than later and whatever it is as well is probally gonna blow the indusry and fanatics away once again! they seem to do that alot. hehe. but it should be good............and why red track? Its like intamins signature color. Just remember....most of the time color goes with theme...so whatever that slogan they have up means is still a mystery.

The slogan or signage if you will states this : Y'all ready for some serious sidewindin?

Now im gonna freak if its like that new intamin ball coaster protoype...wow...that slogan had that idea popped into my head in a flash! hmmm...nah.....? :?

Just a guess. Since youre talking about it might be an inversion record holder could it be like XCoaster in Magic Springs, AK except taller. Its in their website:

http://www.magicsprings.com

Y'all ready for some serious sidewindin? was stated and this ride do sidewinds on top of the coaster and the land looks like its to small for a huge 4d ride or a flying coaster. Will have to wait and see next year :?:

Now theres another sign that says...."were goin in a whole new direction" and "hold on to your spurs"......

Im tellin ya...this is indicating the new Intamin ball coaster! Oh my god its gotta be. I mean "yall up for some serious sidewindin'" and "were goin in a whole new doirection" sounds like somethin really spinny, n with the spur one....

a spur is round with a jagged edge and oh yes...spins. a new direction would be a "4th dimension" for cedar point at least. Ugh! this is gotta be it.

Nah, the Ball Coaster idea isn't due out until 2008. This being 06, I doubt they'd put one in. Besides, spurs just mean a western style ride, not nessaceraly the way they move. Of course a whole new direction could mean upside down, but that's not exactly new for CP- Corkscrew's been there since 1976.

Here are some things to add to the table. Didn't they call that "special" loop on Storm Runner a Sidewinder loop? Also, I'm pretty sure the name is going to be Maverick and if that is the case, then the spurs thing could be theme or story related.

Also, they said it has only been done one other time, maybe meaning only at CP. They have only 1 sit-down looping coaster, Corkscrew. So it can be a Intamin looping coaster.
