At this point CF would have to buy the entire chain.

Though I dont ever see SFGAm being for sale, SF is one of a small group of cash cows for Six Flags. SFGAdv, SFGAm, SFAW and SFEG make most of the money for SF (last 2 are cause they dont have to invest any money at all in those 2 parks and people still show up in throngs)

....you guys are speculating on so many things at this point with the sale of the company.

It might not even happen...... so rather than get stressed out over it I would suggest riding this out and seeing what does happen.

I'm not meaning to say what is going to happen...I just wanted to know if anyone had more information on the situation.

Correct me if I'm wrong but some name changes would take place. For example: BTR, SUF, SSR, etc. would have to change because of different companies having the ownership. Look at GeaugaLake now that its under CedarFair.

If the entire chain is bought, the name and any licenses (Mr. Six, Looney Toons, Cartoon Network, Time Warner icons i.e. Superman/Batman) would be sold with the chain. If an individual park was sold (i.e. Geauga Lake) then Six Flags Inc. would keep the name Six Flags and all licenses for themselves. So you'd see the name changes on rides and the kiddie areas.

Well, I don't necesarily agreee with that. I think that if SFI was bought, Warner brothers would jump and the chance for more licensing...money for them, mascots and no name changes for new company. I don't think many names will be changing soon.

/\ That's what I meant, I think. Now I'm confused. :?

If you're talking about the second part of my post, I was referring to if only one park was sold. If the entire chain, in other words, SFI, was sold, then, no, you wouldn't see any name changes. Is that what you mean? At least, that's what I mean.

I would be so pis$ed if the name change... i mean, im already ajusted to the park the way it is... you know? The names of coasters like batman, superman and other names are cool for coasters, and if the chain is sold, theyll probly use some gay name to replace them. I really hope everything remians the same like the name, the logo, mr six, EVERYTHING.

Well SF has already changed hands in the last 10 years. When I worked there it was owned by Time Warner (but then again don't they own everything?), in '98 it was purchased by Premier Parks, which I think ruined a good many things in the park. But, when they purchased SF they also purchased the liscensing for the characters owned by TW. So the same thing would probably be true if it sold again.

Not true. No individual parks are for sale. The entire company is going up for sale, and whoever buys it will guy up all of the stocks in the company for a certain amount of money. After this, all that is going to change is the management and executives sitting in an office building somewhere. Management at the upper level is going to change if the company is sold, nothing else as of right now.

Ok, Im bringing this back from over a month ago....Im doing this because today (Oct.24) is the set date or something like that where SIXFLAGSinc. has to come to a likley decision on who, if anyone, the company is going to or what not. There is an article explaining what is going on but I cant open it(you need to be registered)......so can anyone find it and post it here so we can all read it or if you know further information, it would be greatly appreciated :D

For the hundreth time.... Today is NOT the day that decides ownership of the company. They are continuing to consider offers thru November. I believe they may have set a date in November for initial offers.

Todays record date concerns an election for the Board of Directors. Snyder is seeking to replace three directors with his cronies.
It's the most fun in the park when your laughing in the dark.
