Early Reports-Six Flags Plans to Rebuild Flooded New Orleans

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Just a casual search into yahoo returned me this news story on Six Flags New Orleans and the Corperation's plans to possibly rebuild. However this is preliminary as all the water has still not been drained, 12 feet of it in some areas.

The article also states that New Orleans is one of the underperforming parks and the current state about Snyder.

Personally, I don't see it happening.

And if they did, it would be years before it operated again considering the widespread damage to that whole region will take years to re-build and where residents of that area wouldn't even be ready to visit SFNO in the near future.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Unfortunatly for SFI, they are required via they're lease on the park. Officially the park is the city's, but Six Flags is leasing it and running it themselves. (Think SFMW) So in their contract there is something there saying that if a disiaster like this might occur they must rebuild or face charges. Six Flags probably would rather rebuild then be taken to court for breach of contract.

Of course this could all change if the company gets taken over, not sure though.

With the shape the city of N.O is in right now, I wouldn't be surprised if SF could get out of their lease.

I don't think SFNO is on New Orleans radar right now.

Why??? The park wasn't a major one. And the people who live down there won't have the time or money to visit for quite a while anyway. That really doesn't make sense, especially considering the state the entire Six Flags chain is in!!!
