The New Rides (Well not so new anymore)

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.
Postby Sedir on July 12th, 2005, 5:52 pm
Last year in the beginning of the offseason tons of stories about new roller coasters and rides all went around. (Silver Bullet, Sheikra, Kingda Ka, etc.)

What of any of the new rides this year have you been on, or are going to ride?

I, unfortunetly, will not be trying out any of these new roller coasters. However it is possible that when we go out to Virginia later this month we might spend a day at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. This theme park got a new ride this year that's suppose to have never before seen technoligical surprises. Although the description of this ride is not all that helpful, it seems to be a combination of Spiderman and The Haunted House. I can tell it will be an interesting ride...

I've ridden Hades already which was a blast. This is new last year but I rode Revenge of the Mummy down at USF. Hopefully will get a spin on Maxair in early August.

SheiKra
Hydra
Powder Keg
Mr. Six's Pandemonium
Kingda Ka (On a wing and a prayer)

I've been around the horn this year. Unfortunatley 3 of these 5 coasters were terrible, 1 was ok, and one was just a one-trick pony

Maxair is really fun you'll like it. My harness clicked up a notch though and it scared the hell out of me :!:

I believe Kingda Ka has two count 'em, two tricks! :)

I have been on Hades and Avalanche.

Still mad that I missed Rita by a year....

Tomorrow and Thursday I will experience Maxair. Also, I've never ridden an Intamin Rocket so Top Thrill will be an experience for me.

I won't be riding any new rides except for maXair. Even that I don't have much chance of riding.

Actually I was talking about SheiKra. After the Drop, the Immelman and turns really are worthless.

Actually, KK's second trick is basically a brake run that is on a steeper vertical angle.

I'm going to GADV in mid August and hopefully Ka is open. Although I would rather ride every roller coaster but Ka than ride Ka and only get to ride a few others.

I also went to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg last week. I went on the new ride (Curse of DarKastle). It was alright (in my opinion). I think the Spider-Man ride at Islands of Adventure is better.
