Hope fully in the near future, they will make a coaster that will be just as tall and just as fast as kingda ka...but add more too it then just a hill, and a drop.
but what am i getting so excited over...kingda ka hasen't evan opened yet!
Still, it would be awsome if they made it longer...
but on the down side it would cost alot to make it that tall...and then add more on to it.
ok....shutting up now

THIS SITE SUCKS! ------------>www.wwwdotcom.com HA HA you thought i was talking about this site!
that launch, hill and brakes, costs more an an enitre normal coaster. TTD cost far more than Millennium Force, after the Launch, Top Hat and Brakes, there just isnt $$$ left in most parks budgets to build much more, plus if it satisfys the pGeneral Public, why would you want to build more than you have to?

FParker, all your points apply, but keep in mind that RB Gurl is not part of the GP and, obviously, isn't satisfied with L>TH>B. no, it doesn't make sense for a park to spend millions more to make a roller coaster good for a handful of people, but that is the perspective RB Gurl appears to be coming from.
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.
As much as I enjoyed TTD last year, I have to say that I agree with some of you on this board about how these extraordinary sized rocket coasters are way too short.
Though I love the speed and the height, I love a long-lasting coaster ride just as much. Disney is providing a great example of this. They are spending a lot more money on Expedition Everest (upwards of 80 mil!) than CP or SFGDV did on TTD and KA. Of course, much of that money is spent on themeing, knowing Disney. But I just think it's cool how they are trying to create a well-rounded multi-sensory ride experience, where-as the rocket coasters are basically... launch-tophat-brakes.
Storm Runner and Accelerator are good examples of rocket coasters with longer courses.
I was defending you. I'm not satisfyed with L>TH>B either and, while FParker's points make sense, obviously there are people out there who want more to their coasters. no, parks can't cater to just those people, but they do exist and their opinions are valid.

This has been mentioned in similar topics, but once the GP see tallest and fastest they think it is the best. I didn't rush to ride TTD, because I didn't think it is worth the money or the time. The only reason I'm going to ride it this year is because of credits and I'll be in the area.
I prefer coasters that have more length and more elements to them than height. Running six trains and launching 400 feet and then spiraling down is ridiculous.
TTD was one of the reasons I started going to Cedar Point in 2003, 2004, and probably this year too. But there were plenty of other reasons as well. I thought a lot of the other rides looked really fun, and they are. I also like longer coasters and I think TTD could be longer and better, but it's still my favorite coaster. But I'm not gonna go out to Gadv to ride Kingda Ka, I don't have the money and I can live without it.
