Waterparks are not the problem with SF. They are cheaper to build, and as many people say they bring in people. However, you have to realize that the reason people are not coming to these parks is that they don't have enough to offer, or have poor service. Waterparks won't crave a need to ride a million dollar rollercoaster, or flats that turn you upside down.
Every park eventually (if not already) is going to have a waterpark in the SF chain. I just see them installing them everywhere (if not already). The problem I have with this is that waterparks take up alot of space. I really think that ALL these waterparks should be separate, but still close by the regular park. Many of these parks are limited enough. If you add a waterpark, you are left with taking out attractions. Yes, taking out attractions is good only if they are really unpopular.
As for SFGAm, I will never believe that it has enough space. Rides are being taken out, and new rides are being put in. The waterpark is taking up where some of the parking lot used to be. Now, it's going to come to taking out things because they didn't build the waterpark across the way.
