Santas Village's fate uncertain after 2007.

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

A Chicago based real-estate investment company plans to purchase the 40 acres of land that is being occupied by the park. Harris Bank has been leasing the land to the park for years. The park's current lease is up in 2007 and is unknown what will happen after that.

Great, now that will bring more little kids to SFGA. I only went there once about 10 years ago. It was alright, but I would never go again because it is more for little kids and SFGA rules.

I remeber going there when I was three, and going on the fire truck train. That place is a really good family park, especially for the kids. It's a real shame... :?

I used to go there once a year when I was little. The last year I went was the year that Typoon opened its decent, pretty much what you would expect. The park overall is a pretty fun place for the kids. It has some fun rides.

While the article says that it is uncertain if the park will remain open after 2007, it doesn't look good.

Typhoon is up for sale on that website that sells amusement rides and coasters (forgot the name).

The park is only getting 200,000 to 300,000 people a season which is pretty dismal.

Chitown I know you live near SV. My question is Typhoon dismanteled or is still up while it is for sale. Has anybody heard if it will operate for the 05 season if it is still up?

How much is it, $2? I hope to goodness that SFGAm doesn't decide to buy it.

While going there last year, the park was pretty empty. I could understand why the owners would want to sell it. I'm definitely going to miss the "permament" Yo-Yo in the area along with the best dragon roller coaster.

I guess more people will go to Kiddieland instead and some to SFGAm. Maybe Kiddieland will buy the Yo-Yo???

Iggy.

The Typhoon coaster is still up. I am assuming they wont dismantle it until it is sold.

If you notice, the availability is NOW so they really want to get rid of it.

Yeah, I want to get a ride on it again before it's gone. I enjoyed that ride, even though it was insanely rough.
