Six Flags St. Louis?

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Hey, has anyone out there ever been to Six Flags Louis? I'm thinking of making a trip there for their Frightfest, I was wondering about anyone's impressions of the park. Thanks!

I've only been there once. It's a pretty small park compared to GA. The Boss is great; so's the Screamin' Eagle. Batman is unoriginal, but still awesome. (Grafiti is still there! :D ) Mr. Freeze was closed and testing, but looked great. Check out the ferris wheel and the Roaring Rapids-type ride too.
How much longer can I last until Opening Day! ARRRRGH!

I've been there many times.. I live directly in between Six Flags St Louis and Six Flags Great America.....so I visit both of them MANY times a year... as far as coasters, Great America is 2341234 times better.. but as far as layout and park space, St Louis is better.. St. Louis is a very good looking park, with heavy focus on keeping it clean.. The coasters aren't anything too special.. it's got Mr. Freeze, Batman, The Boss, Screaming Eagle, Ninja, Excalibur.. those are pretty much the only big coasters they've got.. but it's still a great park. I think it would be a very good one to go to for Fright Fest.

Hey coastermaniac04, where do you live? Because the reason we're thinking about going to SF St. Louis is becuase I and my friends go to U of I, so its about the same distance for us as well.

The location is beautiful! Ravines and hills everywhere! Ninja gets a bit rough at times, I rode it twice in a row (boy I needed an aspirin! :? ).

There are a few trip reports on the park(a couple of whom were done by me.) The park is great, so I know you will have a great time. Must rides are the coasters, Xcalibur, and the Scooby Doo dark ride. Have a fun time.

I've been there a couple days last year, and the year before. It has my #1 woodie, Screamin' Eagle there. It has a mine train rollercoaster that no one mentioned so far.

If you liked Shockwave, you would probably like Ninja. If you like V2, they have Mr. Freeze. Mr. Freeze is a little better. If you want to get beat up, you have the Boss.

The scooby-doo water ride is good. As I said somewhere else, the Rush Street Flyer is better than the Trailblaizer. Xcalibur is more like a cheap and boring (in my opinion) orbit.

I am also between SFSTL & SFGAM near Springfield. Anyway SFSTL's Fright Fest was horrible last year. Props were malfunctioning, haunted houses were very prop intensive and more eye candy than anything. The actors/monsters had poor make-up and even worse scaring skills. I was so dissapointed by the so-called clowns in sherwood area. The only saving grace was two actors. One was a guy dressed in old western clothing hanging out near screaming eagle. He posed very still so I could look at the airbrush detail on his face, in exchange I was talking to him through my teeth, telling him visitor positions. To anyone looking at us, it appeared as if I was looking at a statue, but when they sat down by the statue- well it as very entertaining. The other was an actress up front in the plaza - victorian dress ghoul type airbrush makeup had a very shrill voice and wicked temperment. She was a load of fun to watch and played her character very well.

As for the rides see my post in this topic:
http://www.sfgamworld.com/phpBB2/viewto ... ght=#22656

Get a front row night ride in batman - as you go into the first drop, you will see the entire plaza fogged over with blood red lights, and ghouls through the fog - its a really neat view and well worth any wait.
Also get a night ride on Freeze if the moon is shining - the effect of coming up through fog and straight at the moon with beams all around you on the tower has been my favorite night ride of all time.
It's the most fun in the park when your laughing in the dark.

You may or may not like the Boss. It really depends where you sit and if it gets some re-tracking done with new trains.
