Eight months after gurnee officials revealed they were in negotiations with Minnesota developers to construct an indoor water park/hotel/conference center, the Plan Comission is finallyscheduled to hear the proposal
(There is more but if you want to ead it read the 9-9-04 edition of the gurnee review).
This just in. Great Western hotel company is going to build an indoor water park hotel. Do you know what this means? This means that gurnee is turning into the wisconsin dells.(The only thing missing are the ducks)
Now the way I understand it this water park is not trying to compete with sfgam because you have to be staying at the hotel to use the waterpark so the public is not allowed to use that waterpark.
They did mention that sfgam would get a waterpark in this article.
I am so sorry that I am not making too much sense I am just so excited.
Anyway we will have to see which is better sfgam or great western hotels???
I want the sfgam survivor to be held every July and August.
It's a resort with a waterpark, quite different than a theme park with a waterpark, obviosley GAm's will be higher attended (or at least in summer) as a lot of people don't stay at a hotel just to go to a waterpark when theres another one right across the street .

Sounds good to me, all we have to do is wait about 7 months.....although it would be hard for a resort waterpark to compete with a major venue waterpark (I don't know much about either, but if it's for hotel guests only I don't think it would really be that elaborate compared to GAm's).
I'm gonna have to stay there for 1-3 days and see how it is. Then I will have to go to sfgam's wterpark and go for 1-3 days and then I will have to judge.

Don't forget the community pool, but again, that can't compare.
Does it stat anywhere how big this indoor park will be? I just want to see how long this hotel will go until they aren't making out with the water park ordeal from hotel guests.
To me the Dells are an expection to hotel water parks becuase there is so much to them and they have deals with other attractions around them. I don't think it would be long after opening that the hotel would allow 1-day passes for outside guests unless the indoor park will be small.
