Indiana Beach

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Has anyone ever noticed that the mini steel coaster at Indiana Beach (I forget what its called) has no seat belts. Along with an almost straight down drop with a banked turn right at the bottom. I rode with my neighbor who isnt scared of anything and it scared the crap out of him. I think they should put belts on it, or at least a safety bar. What do you think?

yet it has never tossed anyone. It's 100% perfectly safe for anyone with even an ounce of common sense.

Back in the beginning Whizzer had no seatbelts also.

And also, Tigrr does have a straight down drop(by direction not angle) of around 50 or so feet, decent airtime in the back seat of the car if someone heavy is up front.

I'm just glad that no one has fallen out of this ride yet. Although do you agree that if someone was not paying attention that they could be thrown from the ride at the bottom of the drop?

I don't believe so because the turn is so banked that all the forces on the turn do is push your butt into the seat.

yep, there are no forces at all on the ride that would lift your center of gravity above the sides of the car. it's impossible to fall out reguardless of any conditions (ie. passing out, being handicapped, or anything similar) short of disobeying the rules and standing up. The ride has no negative forces, only laterals and positive forces to which there are restraints, those being the seat bottom, seat back and high sides.

IF I had my hands up, I'd remain in the car?

As far as what they are saying yes. The G's push you down into your seat. Although are they strong enough to keep you in the seat?

I have no idea. But when I went on it, I remeber it like ti was a Log ride. You felt like you can fly out, but you wont.

^I guess you answered the question even with having no idea. I've never been to IB, but IMS is a perfect example. It goes straight down and yet no one falls out. I do have to say this. It is hard for someone to fall out of a ride if the car is rectangular (having four sides) unless it's looping or you purposely do something stupid.

In other words, Viper, Am E forwards, or Whizzer, you couldn't fall out even with no lapbar because you have the car that stops you from doing so. RB is not one of these.

Ummm the way Ae red is running this year after the helex you could be tossed out. Also if you have your hands up on tigger you wont fall out or else I would be dead, and it is impossible to fall out during a loop due to the force of your body being pushed into your seat but if you got stoped upside down with no harness/ lapbar you would be screwed.

With the loops, it would have to depend on how fast the train is going and how big it is. On Demon, I think that it would be be easier to fall out without a harness/lapbar than BTR. In the first, Demon loop, I think I would be dead without a harness/lapbar. IW would be another one because of the big loop.

On the loop on iron wolf, your feet stick to the floor so you would be fine.
