Busch Gardens vs. Sea World

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

My family is going to Florida this summer, and plans on stopping at either Busch Gardens or Sea World for a day. If you've been to either one or both, my question is which one is better?

They look pretty similar in the fact that they both have animals and rides. However, Busch Gardens looks like it has more rides than Sea World. I'm assuming that the admission includes unlimited rides (you don't have to pay each time you ride, or buy an additional pass). Also, which one has better animal attractions, since we'll also be spending a lot of time there.

Thanks for you help!

I go to BGT all the time and I went to SWO in 1997, the shows are awesome but thats all I really enjoyed there. I'm not a big fan of exhibits. Obviosley Kraken was not there. As far as BGT, I never do any animal stuff but Montu is way overrated in my opinion (although most people like it), Gwazi's are decent at best (Tiger being better), Python is uncomfortable which makes it uncomfortably bad, Scorpion is my second favorite coaster in the park behind Kumba(great ride!), Kumba is a great coaster if you sit in the front row. I havn't ridden Cheeta Chase at BGT but it sucked in Virgina.

Actually you can easily do both if you wanted (make sure to get that multi park flex pass for Universal and Busch Parks if you dont already have season passes). There is a relatively obscure bus called the gwazi express(may change the name every year with new rides, but in 99 is was Gwazi express and I learned that name, dont think they mentioned a name last time I took the bus which would be last Nov) but for like $5 (or free with the flex pass or Busch Season Pass), it leaves from Seaworld's bus parking lot at I think 9 and 9:30 am (sometimes they are combined on the 9:30 bus), will drive you all the way to BGT, then back at the end of the operating day (6pm every time I've gone). you are supposed to make reservations, but they never check them, you can get a flyer at some Hotels in Orlando or I bet you can get all the info by calling or stopping by Guest Relations at Sea World. There are also busses leaving from Old Town if you end up staying in Kississme. Ends up being cheaper than gas and you get both parks. Also nice busses with the TV's and bathroom on board, they always show a movie(usually disney) during the ride :)

If I had to choose just one park though, it'd be tough, Sea World only has 2 major rides, but they are both really, really good and I'd hate to miss them. BGT has alot more to do ride wise, if you are in it just for rides, and rides alone, you'd probably be better off with BGT. However keep in mind it is over a Kilometer from Montu to Kumba, should rename Busch Gardens Tampa, EPCOT 2* :)

Yeah go to BGT if you feel like walking a few miles from ride to ride, lol.

BGT has more rides, but the animal attractions at Sea World are FAR better.
