Hey guys So our original plan was to visit Six Flags St.Louis on labor day weekend, but now we're planning to visit either Cedar Point or Six Flags St.Louis. Which one would you pick to go to during labor day weekend? Which one would have more crowds? Which park do you think is more exciting? Which park do you think is more worth the money? And which ever one we go on im going to buy a platinum flash pass or a fast lane pass. Any reviews on Cedar Point's Fast lane passes? is it worth it? how much time does it actually reduces on ride wait times? Lets say that Dragster has 90 minute queue how much time will the fast lane pass reduce that wait time for me? Thats all thanks
Right off the bat, Six Flags St. Louis is cheaper to visit IF you have a season pass. You would be paying admission each day to Cedar Point, and wouldn't have to pay admission at St. Louis. The thing you will be paying is parking though because even if you have parking on your Six Flags pass, they still charge you - I think $20.
Most people are going to say that Cedar Point is the better park, and they would say to go there. Cedar Point I would say is definitely going to be more crowded than St. Louis would be. Maybe, even 2 times more crowded. Do you like Intamin coasters a lot? Than, you go Cedar Point. For some of the coasters at Cedar Point, they are very body restricted. Some of there Intamin coasters have smaller seatbelts like Top Thrill Dragster and Millenium Force.
Do you go in the waterpark? Well, St. Louis has it free with admission whereas Cedar Point, it's additional money. However to me, St. Louis waterpark feels very much like Great America's, but it has a little less.
For me, I would probably chose St. Louis over Cedar Point. I think that Cedar Point is a little over hyped. People go it has so many coasters, but to me a lot of them aren't great. St. Louis has 3 coasters in my top 10 - Mr. Freeze, Screamin' Eagle, & Batman the Ride (but that's at SFGAm also) whereas Cedar Point to me only has 1 in top 10, and that's Top Thrill Dragster. If I'm talking top 15, Raptor would be also included.
My opinion for you is to look at rcdb.com and look at all the coasters that each park has. What rides are you really interested in? Millenium Force feels so much like Raging Bull, but it's a 100 feet taller. If you are the person that really wants airtime, airtime; Millenium Force is not a ride you are really looking for. It's more about speed, and one or 2 airtimes only. Gemini I feel has great airtime at that park, but it's hardly ever talked about which is such a shame. Oh, and just to mention that Iron Dragon is such a (bad) wimpy ride. This is compared to others like Top Gun at Kings Island, and Ninja at Magic Mountain which I think are great and fast rides.

I don't know if this makes a difference to you but the parking is $18 not $20. Also if you have a dining pass on your season pass for Six Flags Great America it doesn't work at Six Flags St. Louis
SF STL is my pick. Lower crowds, cheaper prices, right near a major city if you want to do non-coaster stuff, free water park and a great wooden coaster collection.

.
Even though Six Flags states that the parking pass is only good at the park you purchased it at, we just found out recently that doesn't seem to be the case because my girlfriend got her parking pass at SFOT but we visited SFFT and SFGAm and didn't have to pay for parking.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Do you think your girlfriend just got lucky? or can we really use our parking pass from SFGam?
Sounds like she got lucky, however at the East Coast SF parks, SFA, SFNE, SFGAdv they are close enough together where for an extra $20 you can upgrade your parking pass to chain wide parking. I'm hoping next year it's rolled out chain wide.
As for the original question, it depends what you're looking for, if you got time and money to invest go with Cedar Point, if you want a quicker and cheaper trip do SFStL. Cedar Point has a lot more to do, but I wouldn't say Cedar Point has the better rides if you put rides head to head with comparable rides.

Simplest thing to do is when you go to another park besides SFGAm, hand the toll booth attendant your pass. They now scan them and we got through without paying. Basically just try it, you have nothing to lose.

Just to mention this year, I tried the season pass parking just to see if they would take it, and the lady scanned it, and it was no. So, don't be disappointed if they aren't taking it, and be prepared to pay. However, you might as well try to in case something happens differently.
I just want to say that American Thunder (formerly Evil Kinevil ride) wooden coaster is such a gem. I'm a person that just loves a lot of PTC coasters, but GCI really did a great job on that coaster. I don't think you have to wait for it in the morning; (meaning you have to get to it first or it will be crowded) because it was never that crowded, but enjoy yourself on that ride.
The longer lines at that park are Mr. Freeze, Tony Hawk, and Scooby-Doo. Memorize that..

^The value would be in St Louis so I don't see what you think he is wrong about. The crowds at Cedar Point will be terrible, and I think everyone would rather pay less and not have to wait in super long lines even if it does mean going to a park with mediocre coasters. Cedar Point is a great park, but not when it's super crowded.
That's a tough one, both parks have rides of approx the same quality, CP just has a larger number of coasters. though I'd say American thunder at SFStL is better than basically anything CP has to offer.

I sort of agree, but definitely NOT Gemini, and Corkscrew I feel is okay. It's not great, but it doesn't hurt the park because it's such a small footprint. I would like to see Magnum, Mine Train (which to me is one of the worst Arrow Mine trains out there), and Iron Dragon be gone for something else. Magnum is tricky to say to get rid of it because enthusiasts just love that ride, but to me it hurts especially on that one part. In my opinion, who cares if it was the first to go over 200 when it's painful. All that matters really to the park is ridership. If barely anyone rides a ride, than they get rid of it.
