Walt Disney World cuts rates to $55 a night

In response to the slow bookings that normally occur after the first of the year, the WDW Resort has cut room rates at its brand new Pop Century resort and its All-Star resorts from $77 a night to $55 a night. They have also closed the Wonders of Life Pavilion at Epcot temporarily. Read more below.

I can understand the room rate cut. Thats cool. I love staying on property. But a cheaper rate wont make me. I can still get a $39 room at the Days Inn right on the Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, less than a mile from the Main Gate. All I do at the room is sleep after getting blitzed at Pleasure Island.

But I don't like the closing attractions bit. Hey, I may not go to the Wonders of Life pavilion (Body Wars) but whats next? I know everyone is hurting, but thats weak.

I liked the Wonders of Life Pavilion. It was a great place to take an air-conditioned break from all the crowds. But the Body Wars wasn't very good. I like SSA at SFGAm much better: larger screen and only the seats move, not the entire cabin.
