Most of the track in indoors and was completed months ago, the only part left is that helix that's outside, and that's like literally 10-15 pieces of track tops, will go up in a day, probably wont be built til late June I'd guess due to all the other construction work happening in the middle of that racetrack.

What that fails to mention is 7 people were injured by what was called a deafening blast. Also their was another similar incident in July with riders aboard. Penalties are being paid by S&S and so far the TUV has refused to certify the ride for the time being, they are going to try again this summer. Apparently there was a failure of one of three compressed air cylinders.
So, since S & S Power didn't build, only design this thing, wouldn't the manufacturer of the failed parts be legally/financially liable?
Edit: to explain why, it is in many cases illegal to use pneumatic control systems with a single point of failure in applications where injury could occur if a part failure happened. Even if the design team ignored this, the sub contractors and company that built it should have noticed/corrected this problem.
Since s & s mainly works with air launch systems, I'd be shocked if they would neglect safety protocols that even small scale pneumatic operations require.... I smell a lawsuit by s & s when this is all done. Edit2: don't bash American engineering, it's designed most tall buildings, bridges, etc. In the world. Many times us products fail because of sub standard production due to outsourcing. I'd bet many of those parts are "lowest bidder" contract awarded parts from some overseas company. Because they're too smart to sell it for one million dollars.... *sneer* who wants a ride like that anyway? Problematic, dangerous, dull. Sure it accelerates fast, but then you hit the brakes, have one banked turn and some high lateral g wild mouse like turns.... Dull
^in all seriousness they did get Deja Vu working great the last season
What's really funny, is that you think I'm from the GP (General Public). When indeed, I most likely know far more about the coaster, as I've rode it multiple times.
If they got it running right, and it got more upgrades after being moved, that's really sad. The ride was never open all day when I was there, not once. Such a shame.
Maybe SFGAm should have spent some figure higher than the original purchase price to "refurbish" it, so 400 people per hour can still experience it in all it's glory.

With operational improvements and staff coordination, vu could have hit 800 pph legit... Probably 20-30% under what suf averages.... And vu was actually at about 200 pph because of downtime, miscatches, etc. I wouldn't spend too much fixing vu, but spending what they did on bb would have been ok. (they could have sued vekoma for defects, right?) a ride that draws and runs at 800pph is still running more people than bb, from what I've seen. Plus bb is open less of the season...
Btw read before you fire off quick remarks, I said v2 batman and bull were signature rides that would justify major overhauls (up to original purchase price: probably half of replacement costs). I don't know what vu cost, but they gave it away.
They didn't give away vu'. Silverwood bought it for 1mil. The Over Georgia ride was sitting waiting for a new owner, if Miribilinda never wanted the ride, it would most likely have eventually been scrapped. No park wants to take a ride that will require heavy maintenance, or a complete systems overhaul. I would cry if we never sold Vu', cause it would sit there, in the cold, and I would see it when I ride IW.
I sent this wonderful place an email back in Nov./Dec. askin about merch & the problem that occured on RingRacer...They sent me back two replies in 15min explaining both stories, which you guys have right(failure on the launch system) which I was surprised he explained at all. However as for merch, he was amusing over the fact that since there is NO online merch that "when i visit this summer of 2010, I can then buy my ringracer souvs ONSITE" haha. Ok mr. How much is that plane ticket to Germany?!
No but sadly, im still "obsessed" with this ride. Its #3 on my top three to ride in the world.....my list is really weird. haha I just want to go speedy fast
Well, here we are a little more than a year later, and the ride still isn't open, and in the news just today.....Surprise!!, it's been delayed again. They are hopeful it will open mid summer. Also there are still some lawsuits ongoing from the 6 workers that were injured when the air tank exploded. The story, in german, can be found at...
