Three new forms of entertainment will occupy the old property. 1. A combo amusement and animal park. (Occupying the Santa's World area and animal barn)
2. A new hockey team in a Northern Illinois league (re-modeled Polar Dome and ski lodge themed bar that has a great fireplace).
3. A new paintball facility (guessing it will occupy the Coney Island area of the park)
Not sure if anyone yet has checked out the ride list or not. Two of them on the list are from Kiddieland, and one is from Santa's Village. I've listed them below.
Midge O Racers: You will be ready for the Indy 500 after this fun ride. The Midge O Racers are an original Kiddieland classic dating back to 1953.
Roto Whip Kids: You will be fishtailing around on this ride. This is another Kiddieland classic brought back to Chicagoland after Kiddieland closed.
Santa's Historic Slide: The oldest original Santa's Village ride left dating back to 1959. Get ready to zoom down this old fashioned metal slide.
While most of us are probably to big to ride these (minus the slide, maybe), it is good to see more of these classic rides in operation again.
This sounds like it's from Kiddieland too. Under the Volcano area in Kiddieland, they had the use your arms to make the "train" car go type of attraction. It's on small train tracks. They call these hand propelled train at Pirate's Cove. I don't know what it was called at Kiddieland.
"AZoosment Express Build up those arm muscles kids and get ready to power your own locomotive around the Christmas tree."
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"

IDK about you but I loved Santa's Village. I went there about 10 years ago, which was the last time I went there. Everything about it was awesome. Typhoon was great. I wonder if there's any videos or photos/picutures of what it looked like before it went downhill. That would bring me back to when I was a youngin.
