The coaster wars will never be over as long as men run these companies. The male complex is a wonderful thing if you like bankrupt companies/governments.
Yes, as I said "a mark" just as he has from Magnum to Maverick... You think they care too much about budget? They've gotten a little more intelligent or HE has since 2007/2008 but if they cared they would do what (Thank God) SFGAm for example does... Park improvements such as repaints, que rails, new benches, etc etc. I mean look at what they did with Farmers Market this year. It is now the County Fair food court & looks GREAT. CedarPoint especially does not do these things. They do NOT take care of what they already have.
He would rather put in the next introduction to the thrill industry to keep that nice "Best amusement park" record.
^While I hate Cedar Fair's lackluster maintenance just as much as everyone else, I gotta say Cedar Fair parks are actually fairly clean and nice looking. Just take a look around SFGAm. You will see gum everywhere, faded gum covered blacktop, paint chipping off of almost every building, trash everywhere, and just a overall "dull" look to everything. However, this is something I actually like about Six Flags. And I would rather have some dirty, old, gum covered theming instead of some plain, un covered, silver handrail ques.

I disagree about the "nice looking" part. Maybe CP and KI look nice, but the rest of chain the parks aesthetics are not very good. Kings Dominion's upkeep is a joke and the areas that Cedar Fair tacked on (especially around Dominator) are nothing other than grass and garbage cans. At Valleyfair in line for Renegade they covered up the vandalism on the walls with permanent marker, and the design in the parks on anything other than the coasters is non existent. It's funny/sad how Cedar Fair builds amazing bad a** Intamin's and B&M's and you can walk around the same park and see the facilities haven't been touched since the 70's.
You know that has always bothered me about CF... You're right, they build great, big, creative coasters from Mantis to Maverick, Millennium to Intimidator, Raptor to Talon, or Meanstreak to Prowler....yet their atmospheres are all the same generic concrete palaces of dull or no themes. Its the former Paramount parks that hold themes but even those are diminishing in that dept. A prime example is Dominator. Concrete up front, flat open land that was solid dirt forever (is it still) on the coaster end. I just don't like it, & don't understand it.
^It's not just CF parks. Many Six Flags and Parc chain parks fall into the same issue. On a regional level park, theme can not make up for big rides or a free water park add on.

2012 as I have seen so far has no reason to be even the slightest bit better if not worse than 2011. There are no anniversaries or parties of any sort. Plus, considering we just got an expansion for 2011, we probably won't get anything except a flat or a MACK or a video game stand.

SFFT and SFNE are celebrating big anniversaries, and new management seems to be keen on giving big additions to parks that are having a milestone...
