Space Mountain (Florida) now featuring audio

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Imagineering has been working 3rd shift since on Space Mountain at Walt Disney World installing a new sound system and debuted it to the public today.

An enhanced audio experience has been introduced at Space Mountain on Aug. 30. Walt Disney Imagineering has added a new composition that's exclusive to Florida's attraction, which will play along with varying sound effects while guests make their flight through space.

The new "Starry-O-Phonic Sound" compliments last year's refurbishment which added storyline elements, new lighting and "darkening" effects, updated décor, accessibility features, interactive queue elements and a ride photo system

After riding it tonight I was amazed at how well timed and loud the sound effects are considering there is no onboard audio on the trains. The music adds a nice ambiance to and really added the extra umph.

I am also quite amazed at how they did it. How did they make it so loud and drown out the sound of the cars and people screaming. Ahh the Disney magic.

I can't wait to try this out today. The ride needed something to look at or hear during each ride.
