Ok, let me see if I understand here what happened.
From the article
The employee was working Saturday at the Skyride attraction. After sending passengers on a gondola out of the station, the employee thought the door might be unlocked and held onto the door to check it while guests sat on the ride, according to a park statement. He held on as the gondola took off—then 35 feet above the ground—let go and dropped into a landscaped area, the statement added.
Now, I've never been to BGA, but I'm guessing the sky ride has gondolas like SFGAm used to have. It also sounds like Maikon grabbed onto the handle of the door, went INTO THE AIR with the GONDOLA and then, after seeing that the gondola was locked, let go, and dropped to the ground.
You know..I'm all for double and triple checking to make sure the guests are safe, but I don't think putting your own life at risk is a good idea. 35 feet is quite the distance to fall and I think he is luckly to be alive.
