When I drove by the park yesterday morning I noticed that parts of it were sitting in the parking lot. I have a few pics, so when I get home from work, I'll post them.
What Michigan's Adventure really needs is a good hyper-coaster. Are there any local zoning laws in the area that the park is located that prohibit them from doing so?

No, X-Flight went to Kings Island last year, and they announced earlier that Steel Venum is going to Dorney
This is a great addition to the park, considering their largest steel coaster is Corkscrew. I do feel bad that their impression of wood is less painful though.

in the mid-late 90's there was talk of a morgan hyper which never happened, CF brought it up again when they bought the park and that also never happened.
As far as I know there are no zoning rules saying they cant have one, though I'm not 100% sure it'd be worth the investment at that park, it's sorta far from major markets to be able to draw people. Chicago folk would rather go to SFGAm and Detroit is alot closer to CP than MiAdv.

^Yeah, but it's an excellent park and it would fit in well there, especially with all the people that went to Busch Gardens for Griffon this year, it'll bring some fan base back for next year.

First off, I hate Cedar Fair as much as anybody, however I fully support their descision to close GL.
While I enjoyed visiting the park: there is never anyone there and the place clearly is not profitable, there is no reason to keep operating the park when those rides could be profitable as new rides at other parks.
The place was a lost cause since SF bought it, they invested too much money into trying to make it a corporate park. GL was a nice family owned park, but once it got the big corporate investments it became doomed.
And who cares if CF didnt announce this earlier, they are not obligated to baby anybody.....get a life.

I believe SFFT includes the 25 or so foot Superman statue as part of the loop. SKC's loop is actually 114 feet according to it's press release (though it seems bigger when you look at it, I'm sure the cliff has alot to do with that)

That was such a sad article...almost as bad as the paper i picked up while in Houstin the day Astroworld closed.....
It's needed, yes, but a nice warning to the people of the area would have been generous, the way this park went under was disrespectful to all of it's patrons.

^They were at the park. Unless attendance was one person, then i'm assuming the park had fans that will miss it. As far as i'm concerned, even if they don't enough fans to keep the place running, at least give that small number of people a last chance to ride. This action is basically saying "dear fans that visited the park over the past few years, there wasn't enough of you, we are getting rid of half your park, hope you don't mind...."
