Which One

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

Basically there are two main amusement park clubs that go on trips in groups: American Coaster Enthusiasts and Theme Park Review. I have two questions about both.

1 : What is the difference between the two in operations, besides Theme Park Review going international?

2 : Which one is better to go on a trip with? {I haven't really done either, with the exception of No Coaster Con for two years.}

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There is a third all exclusive club that I am a member of: It is the NTCCA

The No TOOL Coaster Club of America.

Its really a great club to be a member of, theres not any gravy buffets like with ACE, no creepy weridos like with TPR. and most importantly ITS FREE!

But, in all seriousness, A hobby like ours doesnt need to have a special club to be a member of. All you need is a group of friends that share our hobby and you can organize trips and such.

Is your main interest going on group trips? If so, TPR does many more group trips than ACE. They travel overseas more, and also do trips in the states - that are done as a group. The vast majority of ACE events are not done as a group, and most are in the US. There are more ACE events then TPR events, but as I mentioned, ACE events are usually only done in the States and rarely occur overseas.

If you are interested in publications, benefits, and other such things, I could fill you in on that as well. But if you're mainly interested in just doing group trips, then TPR would be your best bet between the two, most likely.

And in regards to having tools, in any big collection of people, there are obviously both good and bad people. People are people..whether you put them in a group or not, they come in all shapes and sizes. The key is, whether you are looking for traveling with a coaster club on trips or just traveling with friends on a trip, to find people you like and get along with. If you do that, you'll have a great time on your travels. :)

If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them.
