Is your main interest going on group trips? If so, TPR does many more group trips than ACE. They travel overseas more, and also do trips in the states - that are done as a group. The vast majority of ACE events are not done as a group, and most are in the US. There are more ACE events then TPR events, but as I mentioned, ACE events are usually only done in the States and rarely occur overseas.
If you are interested in publications, benefits, and other such things, I could fill you in on that as well. But if you're mainly interested in just doing group trips, then TPR would be your best bet between the two, most likely.
And in regards to having tools, in any big collection of people, there are obviously both good and bad people. People are people..whether you put them in a group or not, they come in all shapes and sizes. The key is, whether you are looking for traveling with a coaster club on trips or just traveling with friends on a trip, to find people you like and get along with. If you do that, you'll have a great time on your travels.
If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them.
