I really just thought that it was neat, American Eagle being built in the background of Sky Whirl and Tidal Wave is in the picture. I just love seeing how much our park transformed over the years. It is REALLY different now. I can't believe we use to have a sky ride! (forgive me that I don't know the name of it, I was still in diapers) It's been fun seeing everything just flow together though.
With that being said;
What is your favorite memory about our park?
Mine would have to be hands down; Power Dive. Oh boy do I miss it.
Mine was the first year Bull opened. It was probably the year I started riding all the big rides (Bull was my first big coaster after Whizzer) and it was the year i started becoming the coaster nut i am today! I miss some of the old rides we used to have (Cajun Cliffhanger, Trailblazer, etc.), however, i still think with every year, the park gets better and better!
I also think that the year the waterpark opened was a huge deal to me!
For a second there, i thought that picture was of the title wave in California, and that was Grizzly they were building, but that doesn't make sense after a second glance.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
While not my favorite, one of the oldest memories I have of the park is when I was there when Camp Cartoon Network and LTNP were under construction. Then in 1999 when I saw Raging Bull, I wanted to ride it just because Orange is my favorite color. It wasn't until 2002 that I finally did ride it however.
Mine was the first time going on Eagle. I had already gone on Whizzer and Shockwave because I remember I went on it a year before it closed. We were waiting in line and I was very gulliable when I was younger and my sister told me that the ride stopped in the helix and ejected people from the ride. I being that gulliable freaked out and didn't ride Eagle until the age 15 of because I was 14 when I rode Shockwave. I also remember going during 7th grade and riding Giant Drop and Bull that day and getting sick on GD and freaking out on Bull. After that I forgot what other rides I went on...my first coaster was Whizzer at the age of 9 but after that I forget.

My first time to the park was in 1992, but I don't remember any of that at all. First trip I remember was in 1998. And I just love seeing pictures of what the park was like before I was the enthusiast I am today.
Just walking through Necropolis at FF this year I spotted the old area where they used to have water shows. My 5th grade class (MANY moons ago!! ) took a field trip, and they had a diving demonstration back there.
I remeber a really cool thing, it was in 1999(winter when bull was being bilt) and I remember when I was going past the park looking at bull being built. I remeber 1 time driving past it when it was almost done... I know my dad took pics of it when it was being built. Ive been looking for them but I cant find them, if I find them ill post them..
God bless NIU Next SFGAm trip: Today May 1st SFGAm '10 ride count-53

Yeah, I remember the opening of Batman, but I was unable to ride it due to well being tiny, other then that.. I dont remember too much. I didn't even get to go on Batman until 94'. So many moons ago.
My favorite memory of the park is when I went there the first time. Right away my family headed straight to Whizzer, and I absolutely loved it! Later that day, my mom really wanted me to go on American Eagle because I had been talking about all of the "big" rides for weeks leading up to going to GAm. So my babysitter and I got in the line (which was using about half of the tent) and we waited through the entire line. When we got to the final line in the station and it finally was my turn to board the ride, I refused to get on. I was crying hysterically. In the end, my babysitter and I ended up just exiting the station before I rode American Eagle. Looking back at that, I feel so sorry for my babysitter who had to wait with me in line, only to have me cry and not get on .
My best memory is the first time I rode American Eagle. It was my first coaster...period. I hadn't rode Whizzer or Demon, just the small carnival dragon coaster. The first time I experienced that stomach dropping feeling, which Eagle has plenty of, it was awesome. That is still my favorite ride to this day.
