Cedar Point trip planning tips...

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

I am starting to freak out a little and would like some help please just to see if im good. I want to go back & bring some newbies. First off...heres my plan thus far.

Im planning a trip for four people for Tuesday August 14-Thursday august 16 at breakers express. I was told and read this hotel has the lowest rates in the area and it comes with the "perks" like early arrival and discounted tickets[$32]. for two nights there its a total with tax of $254.23. If four of us buy those tickets for two days then thats $256.00 So all in all thats $510.23...divide that for four people thats $127.56each.
Then I added $40 for food/souveniors & $25+ for gas each. So each of us need approx. $200..Well i told everyone to bring 200.....

Does that sound right? & Is that enough gas pitch in each? ...does anyone know of a cheaper plan or is this about it? Are we good to go or no where close? Thanks guys...

Price wise that should be pretty close, if you search on Orbitz you should be able to find something cheaper, there are a few strips of hotels in the area all a reasonable drive to the park. Outside of that you seem to be on the right track.

Most off-site hotels offer a free shuttle service, but the downside to that is you can't go into the park an hour earlier...

I did the same thing as you're doing two summers ago. Although we had 5 people, our whole trip was under $200 a person.

We found coupons online and from nearby tourism centers and that helped a lot as well.

If you are driving up there on the 14th, I recommend buying twilight tickets (after 4 or 5 PM entry I believe) instead of a full day admision. You won't be able to check into your hotel until the afternoon anyway, and there are coupons available for a buy one twilight get one free. At least there were a few years ago.

Gas might be a little more than 25 a person, but other than that 200 seems about right. I would bring a little extra just to be safe. You never know.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

I am pretty sure that it is 21 if you plan to stay on CP property. Off property, it is 18 at some places.

I was 18 at the time and we stayed at a Motel 6 about 10 minutes from the park. It was the only place we could check in at. Any other hotel/resort is 21 and older.

Says you must be 18 to reserve a room.

But there may be some stupid loophole I'm not seeing.

There is also a Camp Ground nearby (if you are into that kina thing) that provides shuttle service to and from CP. I had fun doing that in my first trip to Sandusky. It was quite an experience :-) It's quite cheap too, you only get charged per vehicle to park and whatnot. Just a suggestion that you might think of.

Thanks guys...Im all settled...Hotel breakers express...we leave Tuesday at 5pm. We checkout before 11am on Thursday pack up go to the park and then drive home after closing.

For two nights its a grand total of $265.38 divide it by 4 and its a rounded $67.00 and again two days admission per person is $64.00 everyone adds in $40 for food and souvs then $30 for gas. Thatll give us $201.00ea.

Im estatic but the lines may kill me. I hope goin in the middle of week and "this late" in the summer wont be as bad but well see.

Cool! I'm glad ya figured things out. You are gonna have a great time over there in Sandusky. CP is one cool park, the coasters are sweet! I went on a weekend around this time of year, and the lines weren't too bad. Hopefully they aren't for you during the week. I'm kinda jealous though, you get to ride Maverick lol.

Have fun on your trip with your crew.
