What is up with the giant drop?

on sunday and monday during laborday weekend i past six flags twice. while passing it i noticed that the giant drop cars were all at the top, but one was half way down. Does anyone know why the giant drop in closed?

The park won't spend money on broken ride parts for this year. If it dies, it dies. Thus, Giant Drop is dead.
