These polls show a big bias toward small parks and against corporate parks ie-Sf parks or disney parks.
That Cedar Point would beat Dsineyland or Magic Kingdom or either FL Universal park is just a big joke!!
CP's staffing is friendly? They are not friendly, they just sit there, push a button and say a memorized spiel before every dispatch. I never see an employee to guest interaction at that park, I thought they were actually unfriendly. However, their food services are a lot better than SFGAm's but not as I would like to say, friendly.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.

Magic Kingdom defenately shouldn't be in the top 10, and i've never been to islands of adventure, but universal was pretty boring.

Have you ever been to Blackpool, Europa, or Holiday World?
They are a lot more enjoyable then ANY Six Flags park I have been too.
What DanHockey said about Cedar Point is right on the money. Magnum in the top 10? Maybe in its heyday, but not anymore. The ride is rough, especially when you hit a bottom of a hill, and can leave your insides scrambled. MF, I can see that up in the top ten.
a great kids section
Sorry Tony, but Cedar Points kids sections are a joke. I have never seen a group of ride-ops looking so, how can I put it, asleep. All of them looked like they would rather be somewhere else, and dragged their asses like a bunch of zombies. Not only that, but the kids area by Gemini, had only 1-2 ride-ops to handle the 4-5 rides they have there. So if a kid wanted to ride something, they would have to wait until a ride-op became available.
Oh, and Kennywood is a great park to visit. I would highly recommend anybody taking a trip down to West Mifflin. In a way, I would take a trip to Kennywood over Cedar Point.

If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.

Wow, I got a totally different experience. Now, i haven't been there since 2001, but when i was there they were doing individual ride skits kind of like the ones we do at Great America, the lady in guest relations not only told us where the Dive Show was, but also walked us to it and talked to us about where we were from and all of that, and the people running the night show were dancing with us and handing out free butt cusions and I couldn't of been happier. Unless times have changed, i found them to be the friendliest yet.

I don't see how you can call it "dirty." It was just well fun and games for me. I don't really see it. Maybe, rides not working makes it "dirty." If you are going to complain about the flats, then you have to complain about a lot of other Six Flags parks too because they have just as much (around 17). SFOG, and SFStL have almost the same amount. I would imagine that SFKK also in the same boat with them.
The lines are long at SFGAm. Who's fault is that? They can't help they have good rides. If you went in Viper's line Sunday, you would probably wait a good 30-40 minutes. I had to wait two cycles for the Orbit (Some people are like ) I have heard people say that they waited an hour and a half for Superman, and 50 minutes for Ragin' Cajun. I usually wait 40 minutes for Deja Vu. I saw this year Raging Bull has both queue houses open like it was the year when it opened.
The Batman area, and Goliath are thrilled pretty good. They have somewhat of a County Fair theming going on like we do along with SFOG. You don't like the parking lot. You have to say that the Japanese area is themed nicely with the new Tatsu. I didn't think the ride operators were slow at all.
The things that bother me are the one train operations, and some rides not being up. These aren't your reasons though.
As for Cedar Point, I see it almost being just like Great America. It has just a little more roller coasters. However, in my opinion, we have the better kept up flats compared to them. The problem is that the people that vote for these ticket awards aren't most likely the people that care a lot about flats.
In my opinion, I believe that like roller coasters better except for there one or two flat rides such as the Max Air, Chaos, and the Skyhawk over there. Over here, flats are Giant Drop, Revolution, and King Chaos.
If Cedar Point is up there, so should Great America. It's very similar in some ways. Maybe, they shouldn't win it this year because rides are down, and can't be fixed, but they should win it next year, and so on. We should be close to Cedar Point. The only reason why Cedar Point wins is because they have a 400, 300, and a 200 ride. If two of them were taken away, they wouldn't be winning anything.
Six Flags has a bad reputation as everyone says so they aren't going to win. All Cedar fans dream about Cedar Point while all Six Flags fans dream about whatever park they have closest to them. In other words, Cedar Fair is one park (Cedar Point) to many fans and Six Flags has many fan parks. The votes get spread around between each Six Flags park (Some like SFMM, SFOG, and some like SFGAm.)
For Cedar Fair fans, it's like they talk about Cedar Point only. They believe that Cedar Fair is the best chain. You ask them why, and they will probably say because of Cedar Point.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
I totally agree with you dude. I think that SFGAM should have definatly been in the top 10. It's a great park. I know Cedar Point is better but SFGAM should have been number 3 or 4. Everything you said is right. Nice post. lol
The only reason why Cedar Point wins is because they have a 400, 300, and a 200 ride.
yeah. they only won with former record breaking rides. good coasters...what a horrible reason to win. that's like saying a certain park only won cleanest park because the employees are always out picking stuff up. don't get me wrong i can understand what you're saying but cedar point whether you like it or not does have the record breakers and the variety of rides and everything people want a park to have for it to be a best park winner. that doesn't mean i don't think that six flags should have had one or two parks up in top 10 or 5...just don't act like cedar point doesn't deserve to be where it is.

How long were you at CP? Ive been there 5 times and every time the employees have been very friendly and very helpful. The employees want you to have a great time and experience. GAm has a recording of a spiel before every dispatch and CP has their employees say it. Why would that be a bad thing? CP is my favorite park and I think it deserves to be #1. Just because CP is my favorite park doesnt make me a fanboy because I love GAm and Mt Olympus and I like SFMM as well.
andyvball93 wrote:Well Cp is definately my favorite park, as for Sfmm another reason why it isn't up in the ranking is because well i'll give you that they have great coasters, but they don't have good maitenence, when I went half of their rides had one train running.

Look at peoples opinions before you post

Yea I could of agreed with you last year(because geuga lake isn't that well known), but now they have aquired Paramount Parks, they have a lot of solid well known parks.

Whoa, now. I call it dirty because alot of it is. Especially in the Riddler's line. Go check out my Trip Report.
I'm not complaining at all. I love Six Flags Magic Mountain. It was my first Six Flags park. I stated the reasons why it isn't a top theme park, that's all. Magic Mountain and I are still good friends.
Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking, isn't thinking of.

I couldn't agree with you more! Sure Six Flags Great America and Six Flags Over Georgia, in my opinion, deserve to be in the top ten, but that doesn't mean that Cedar Point doesn't deserve number one. And just because i think Cedar Point is my favorite amusement park, doesn't make me a Cedar Point fanboy who only says Cedar Point is better in everything. I, for one, would prefer Raging Bull over Magnum, Whizzer over Wildcat, V2 over Wicked Twister, and Viper over Mean Streak any day, but like i said earlier, coasters aren't the only thing people look for in parks and Cedar Point is a top scorer in all areas of the trade, therefore it is number one.

100 agreed except for wildcat and WT and Director Guy is completely right Riddler is my favorite ride, but its line moves so slow they have a horrible boarding process and frequently runs one train, in contrast CP has great boarding processes for MF and TTD

I completely agree with everything you just said except for the bold, but yeah we all have our opinions. I was waiting for someone to say exactly what you two just said. Just because someone's favorite park is Cedar Point, like myself, does not automatically make them a CP fanboy. Sure, some can be, but not all. I really enjoy the atmosphere of Cedar Point, the coasters, other rides, and pretty much everything about it. It's not my favorite park because of the coasters, it's my favorite because of everything it is and has. And most importantly, the staff is friendly and helpful all the way, 5 out of the 5 times I've been there.
