This ride is such a great ride. It is a Zamperla Power Surge, and it plays at a carnival company called All Star Amusements, or Bloomsness the truck might say. However, the company is bought out, and the name of the entire organization is NAME.
Anyway, this ride is a claw ride that spins 360 degrees while being vertical in the air. The arm on the ride moves around the ride 3 times until it stops. You do upside down on this ride when it does this. Early in the arm, the arm wasn't moving around, and it wasn't that great of the ride. However, when it works, it works. How about Six Flags get one of these?? It's a Zamperla, and you know how much they love them to death.

Yeah, that's why Six Flags has some pretend "thrilling" flats that are really boring. Six Flags must listen to you. The rides I'm talking about are King Chaos, and Revolution the Ride. They are pretend to thrill you flats!!
Even you say not bad, but yet you don't want Six Flags to have one????

Rides that pretend to thrill you? I wouldn't say all flats are phonies. East River Crawler used to scare the hummus out of me as a kid. While Revy isn't too thrilling, the second half offers ride down the Great Wall of China. While Giant Drop isn't a coaster or a flat it still leavs me kind of petrified every time we click at the top of the tower. Hometown Fun Machine is rather different. Haybaler is long gone. Whirligig, Jester's Ho-Hum Ride, and Big Easy Balloons are OK if you have nothing else to do.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.
Hear ye, hear ye: "After 45 years, Six Flags has stopped smoking."
Whirligig is good for if it is/was just raining and you're waiting for Batman to open up again...That's the only time I rode it this year, and it's a pretty good way to waste some time.
About Revy, I think Revy is much better than MaxAir at CP. Revy is a good ride, a lot of the flats are good there, but we need a new flat like a topple tower or SWAT.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.
Overall Power Surge is a pretty boring Flat, in my opinion.
Also it's capacity really isnt at the level it needs to be to be in a major park, though a few parks that have them are Knoebels and Beech Bend.
And another strike against it, it is Italian, though that hasnt stopped Six Flags before (just all other theme park companies and about 75% of carnival operators)

I'm more or less talking about the flats that are supposed to be exciting. I'm not talking about the Fun Machine, Whirligig, Ricochet, and the other more family rides. Those are fun. It's the "teen flats" that get me, because they try to be something more than they are. I think that capacity is completely stupid!!! Technically, water slides should be at a major park either. They are very low in capacity. Why have most of Hurricane Harbor. I'm just trying to prove a point about capacity.
I don't know what Wisconsin will have this year. I really hope that they have Shocker this year. I haven't been there last year, and I'm going this year.
To FParker, did you go on it when the arm was vertical, and the whole ride spun, or just when it stayed in one spot, and the cars were just movingl? When the the whole ride is not turning 360 degrees, it isn't the greatest ride, and that's when it's not working right.
An example early this year was at Libertyville which isn't that far from Gurnee. If it stays like this (like it was doing there), it's not that fun. It was just spinning, but the whole ride wasn't turning. I barely went upside down.

Last week in Glendale Heights, it was doing this now.
http://flatrides.com/Ride%20Index/Zampe ... Surge3.jpg When the whole ride turns 360 along with the cars turning, you will go out of control, and upside down multiple times. I really like this ride when it's working right!!
People were telling me that the Force 10 was really intense, and it was more intense than the Orbiter. That's a joke, and it was boring. How do you feel about that one?? All Around bought this ride from Mid America shows, and dumped there Bumper Cars. That seems like a dumb move!!!

I have done both modes plus I rode during an Overspeed test (under supervision of Zamperla at IAAPA) plus 5+ min cycles. Ride just doesnt do anything for me (and pretty much everyone else I was with)

I'm shocked at that. Did you ride the Force 10 yet?? How was it in your opinion. Do you like Orbiter's or not? I'm just wondering what are your tastes besides the Space Roller, Zipper, and the Tango.
I don't like Force 10. I think it's boring. For the Orbiter, it really depends. If the arms aren't tilting enough, it's boring. If they tilt enough like the Predator, than it's thee greatest ride on the planet. I also do like the Zipper. The newer one at the Wisconsin State Fair stunk however. I was hardly flipping at all!!!

Force 10 is intense, but not necessarily all that interesting, it's just a circle that happens to pull about 2-3 sustained G's.
Orbiter is alot better, though I'm in the minority that perfers Remix. Though if you like arms that tilt alot, you should get out to the Iowa State Fair next month and ride Extasy, it's an Orbiter but the arms bend til it's completely upsidedown, 180 degrees, it's really good in my opinion.
Zipper is my all time favorite Flat Ride, though yeah the newer ones arent so great, to much fiberglass, the heavier the tub(old 100% metal ones) is the more it flips (unless you give it alot of help). Spectacular Midways was set up once in Lisle a few years ago and I managed to cram into a car with 2 other people (exceeding the tub weight limit by at least 200 lbs), but it was downright violent, the car would flip with force I've never felt before, and the airtime would bash your head into the top of the (padded) car, is was one of the all time greatest rides I've had on any ride ever. It's to bad that Zipper has been sold.
