It will interesting on what happened. I have been on this sucker, and it is not the smoothest (for a woodie) coaster I have been. I hope that everybody is ok after this. Not very good start for the now CedarFair owned park.
If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.
I heard that a piece of track at the entrance to the loop had seperated from the wooden part of the track.

I hope Son of Beast gets torn down. I've never felt pain like that of Son of Beast on a roller coaster. As for the riders, I hope they are okay. And "structurally unsound" is an understatement for that 7,000 foot long turd that's apparently a roller coaster.
I just went up to KI a few weeks ago, and it is certainly the roughest ride I have ever been on. If something can't be done to make it even a little smoother, I would also vote for its removal. Hopefully everyone is okay.

I've had my fair share of rides on that coaster, and I certainly agree, its one of the roughest coasters out there. I'm glad that most of the guests are ok and my prayers go out to the two that are still in the hospital. People get hurt on that ride almost daily, I agree, its time for it to go. Long live the Beast!
How bout we all get lighters and burn it down ourselves?

Those who rode the coaster earlier Sunday described it as rough and shaky.
"It was so shaky it was like you were being thrown around everywhere. I couldn't even lift my neck up from the momentum," said Michelle Dille, 21, of Hyde Park, who rode it around 3:30 p.m. Sunday with her fiancé and brother.
"(My fiancé) was pinned. He said, 'I honestly felt like my back was going to shatter.'"
That was the Hyde Park trio's first time on the ride. Some seasoned riders also said the coaster seemed rougher than usual.
"The last one was much more violent," said Mark SooHoo, 25, of Alexandria, Va., who rode Son of Beast three times in a row Sunday - the last time around 4:20 p.m. "It's a great ride, but by the third one, we were feeling pretty banged up."
"...riders described feeling a big jolt. Some suffered welts from the safety restraints, difficulty breathing and pain."
It sounds like the coaster was operating perfectly normally to me.
Though it needs new trains to be smooth, those premeir trains are utter crap. Though the layout would still be rather boring, smooth would be a huge bonus, really the only thing that could help it is something along the lines of Millennium Flyers, but that subject is probably a running joke over at GCII after PKI asked them what it would take to put MF's on a few years back.
