I tried a topic search and I didn't find anything, so I am going to ask the big question. So far, do you think Shapiro has improved Six Flags, done nothing, or made it worse?
In my opinion, he has done some good things and a few bad things. Overall, neutral or maybe a little better...I agree that it is a bit too early to judge him yet.
^^ Big deal we aren’t getting any new coasters for the next few years... Theme parks are not all about coasters. Theme parks are about walking through the front gate and feeling that you are in a whole different world. You don’t like it, don’t go there. Try cedar point, they have a lot of coasters... back on topic, He is doing a very good job so far hopefully he can turn us around and make us more family friendly THEMEPARK! Time will tell though.
No. I think that he believes that sidetracking is the best option. If some rides are pathetic at some parks, he will say to worry about the entertainment, and cleaning the parks including the bathrooms which haven't been a big deal before. When he said that he would station an attendant in the bathrooms, I looked and there was none. Maybe, he figured that it was stupid just to keep someone there the whole time.
Those street characters were let go because they aren't that entertaining. Now, they are supposedly bringing them back. I saw someone who looks like Dr. Spock in Southwest Territory. Two parades is pretty stupid everyday. This isn't Disney. Disney contains MULTIPLE parks for both Florida and California. Continue with one only. Also, fireworks cost a lot of money to have every single day. Can't they try the laser show which wouldn't cost that much like SFStL. He has raised prices at our park $15 dollars from last year, and attendance is going down. Less everything is being sold this year. And Six Flags grows deeper in a whole. If our park (the big park), is losing attendance, how about the other parks??? They are going to dig themselves deeper a whole this way.
Also, they might be selling one of the most profitable parks which is completely stupid. On top of that removing those rides will cost an arm, and a leg. Relocating them (the few) would also cost a lot of money. Early in the year, maximum capacity for rides wasn't there. This was at other parks. This shouldn't have been that big of a deal to implement. I didn't see the new "Six Flags."
Lastly, the tip of the iceberg is the movie with Nacho Libre killing Mr. Six. What parent is going to go to a park in which they indorse killing a mascot?? So, no I don't like him. Plus, he thinks that Wild Mice are going to save the chain. Is this guy there or not??
All our park needed was Looney Tunes characters, and brunch with bugs. It was fine in every other department last year. Our park was clean last year with the help we had, and we didn't need an street characters either. Raising $5.00 just to park is completely awful. People are going to spend less in the park because it costs more to get in the park. Disney charges $9.00, and you get a tram. Also, raising $10.00 a year for almost the same things as last year isn't great either plus a Tornado.
On top of it, he's discounting tickets too much. At our park, it's $54.99 which is a big price when people see it. Then, they see $13.00 or $15.00 off. Believe it or not, the $54.99 is still glaring them in the eyes. It should be lower with smaller amounts of discounts $7.00 or $8.00 but make the price cheaper ($44.99 with 7.00 or 8.00 dollars off) Parking SHOULD be $9.00.

i don't think i would mind not getting another new rollercoaster for a few years. I like the improvements we've gotten already, and i hope to see more good ones.

Why?? Are you someone that says that you love every ride at the park, or not? If not, try out the flats you have never been on. How many times have you been to the park this year?? I can't even make myself go to HH because I'm always in the regular park, and just can't get away.

I like him for the fact he wants to make the parks family friendly and smoke free. I'll like him more if he takes care of bussiness at MM. My only concern is that will the parks that havn't had new coasters in a few years are going to get one or two? You can still have a top notch park that has both, alot of top[ coasters and family friendlyness. Just look at the success of Cedar Point. In all the times I have been there, I have never seen or heard anything out of the ordinary.
Candy: What you lookin' at? Otis B. Driftwood: I'm lookin' at you, mama. Candy: Yeah, you see something you like? Otis B. Driftwood: Maybe. I set my standards pretty low, so I'm never disappointed.
I'm nuetral for now. I like the characters and smoking improvements, but if the park doesn't get a new coaster for a while. the next few years could get a little boring... but I do understand that coasters aren't everything.

I have only been to the park 4 times this year I think. But the only ride that excites me now is Deja Vu. Raging Bull has gotten kinda lame since its trimmed pretty badly and the first drop is the only great part. After that first trim, it crawls along the course. B:TR also excites me, so I guess I will have to ride that alot next time.

Whoa I didn't even realize that until you mentioned, I guess I just forgot about them. I guess there really wasn't much for them to do. They definitely don't need them though because they already got plenty of the cartoon characters roaming the park and the justice league characters as well. They interact and play around with guests that can make an experience more enjoyable.
