Mission Space?

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

I have not been to Disney since 2000. Can someone describe what Mission Space is or the ride cycle?

Esentially its a centrifuge. It is a pod that spins around a central hub. It moves extremly fast and is very disorienting. The pod also tilts. The g-forces created are so extreme it will make most people who don't get sick on rides, well, a bit dizzy.

If you have heart conditions or motion sickness should not ride this thing, PERIOD.

That being said, its one of the most thrilling rides I have ever been on.

As greatamerica said, it's a big centrifuge. If that still confuses you think about Excalibur at SFStL, which it is easiliest compared to. While you are being spun you are in your own individual car with 3 other people. The G-Forces simulate you taking off, flying in orbit, etc. It makes this simulator much more realistic than any other because the G-forces are really there, unlike all others which are essentially big moving benches or seats.

The trick to not getting sick is to keep your eyes open and look straight forward.

for the most part, i did that. I have a medium to weak stomach, so i get sick on some spinning rides, like sometimes chubasco and revy.

I went on it about a month ago, I didn't really find it to be disorienting or anything but you can feel the g-forces.

Forget this ride for me, Id probably pass out lol. The only spinning i can handle is on STT lol.

Doesnt make much sense to me, I can go on any rollercoaster and be fine, no problem. but a spin and puke and im gone.

^Well, your in luck! According to http://www.thrillnetwork.com there is an article stating that Disney will run this ride in a non-spinning mode as well! Anyone know how that's going to work?
