Jennifer Aniston has had a mix-bag of box office hits and misses since Friends stopped being her main money-maker. Who can forget smash hit Bruce Almighty? That film, though not headlining by herself, grossed over 400 million worldwide. Along Came Polly, which will have been released 5 years ago next month, was another hit with audiences breaking records opening weekend for a January launch. Then she went two steps back with commercial disappointments in Derailed and Rumor Has It both of which were panned by critics. 2006 saw her comeback in The Break Up which netted more than 200 million worldwide despite poor reviews. Friends with Money was Aniston's low-budget and limited release success story which gave her the Sundance Film Festival acceptance. Though not seen on the big screen in 2007, Aniston was busy filming more films. He's Just Not That Into You, Management, Traveling and finally Marley and Me helped keep her occupied. While He's Just Not That Into You doesn't open till Valentine's Day, Marley borke Christmas Day records this past weekend. Nearly 15 million was spent on Marley Thursday while over 51 million was taken in by Sunday night. Reviews? Not as good as exes Brad's for Benjamin Button. Who cares? With a cushy release schedule and a dog as the main star Marley is expected to be her third 100 million plus earner since she began theatrical movies in 1993. Guess 40 (almost) really is not that bad.
