Omg I am so annoyed at my neighbors next door to me, I get college students really like to listen to rap music but not at quarter to 12 at night. People at my school have no respect for anyone and it's ridiculous, they have quiet hours and courtesy hours and no one abides by them. Does anyone else have this problem besides me?
Nothing in my neighborhood, but I get alot of people that drive like total idiots because of the car I have.
One example: Two weeks ago I drove the Fiero to a cruise night in Winthrop Harbor, and when I shut the engine off, engine coolant started pouring out of the front reservoir tank. So after things cooled down and enough water was thrown in to get the car home (the people at the cruise night are absolutely not the rude people in this story, they were extremely helpful. I would later find out that the coolant system wasn't being pressurized and because coolant wasn't flowing to the engine, it was overheating), I leave and drive the car rather easier than normal to prevent things from getting too hot; that's when I run into the rude guy in the story.
Guy in a red, beat-to-hell Cavalier with a fart cannon on the back pulls up next to me while driving down Sheridan Rd. in Zion, starts obnoxiously revving the engine, flashing his lights, honking the horn, blasts his blown-out subwoofers, his idiot friend starts yelling things out the window (think he said "race, f**ker"), then starts weaving into my lane and cuts me off twice. I finally had to pull into a service station and get away from him before the asshat took the front of my car off.
The guy was hell-bent on racing me and was either going to get a race out of me or kill me from his driving. I don't race in the Fiero to begin with, and while I'm used to the typical ricer driving stupid so he could get me to race, this guy really pissed me off because I was already on edge with the engine temperature issue.
People who own ricers are complete idiots. They not only think they have the sickest rides around, they think they're the coolest freakin' person ever. Little do they know their car sounds like absolute crap. I have to laugh when I see a racing wing and a crap body kit on a 95 Corolla.
I see where you're coming from Jon as my area has lots of these morons.
^ lol nice Jon but yeah no one has any respect for anyone anymore and one of my pet peeves is that if I have to ask you to do something more then once I will get very pissed off and i don't care if people hate me, I hate it when people don't respect me.
I'm an RA on my floor, and for the first weekend of school I think you've got to realize that stupid freshmen are going to be rowdy when you first get to school, and the RA isn't always around (we've gotta cart some of the freshmen to events around campus) to enforce the rules. Try and asking your neighbor's yourself and then they will probably listen to you and be more considerate at night.

Yeah well i'm living with a bunch of losers who turn the heat on in the middle of summer, it is 97 degrees outside and one of my posters fell and broke because of how hot it is in mine and my roommates room.
^Did you post this topic while on AIm with me? Cause we most definitely had this discussion a couple of nights ago....as I said then
1) Be glad i'm not on your floor, last year we threw HUGE parties in the dorms, but we've learned our lesson and moved to apartments this year!
2) Give them a break, like Woodland said, for the first week. RAs have a lot to deal with in terms of Roommate Agreement forms, Freshmen orientation events, floor meetings and decorations, as well as starting school themselves, so give the scenario a couple of weeks.
3) Since you seem to have this problem every year, I suggest that maybe you are being a little high strung about the whole thing. Everyone comes from a different background, lives in different fashions. Part of living in the dorms is being understanding and tolerant of others behaviors. I'm sure you do things they hate as well. You approach them of the scenario and you hope they improve, and when people approach you with issues, you try and convert as well.
All in all, give it a couple of weeks and try not too get so worked up about it. Maybe find humor in their behavior so you don't get so irritated.

Tony sounds like he has been through RA training, while people shouldn't be bothering you very much, you have to accept that some people are going to be louder than others or what you may be used to. Dorms always seem to have some noise going on at some point, but it seems like you have your own individual room, so atleast you can hide there and stay quieter.

Actually I have a roommate and the walls are so thin in this dorm you can hear everything and anything but so since 2 days ago I haven't heard anything so that's good

No, but my best friend here at school is! Adding to the list of rude people, i can't STAND people in my school who walk and take up the whole hallway for their group, so people in a hurry to get to work can't pass them!!!

I don't care if it happens on a Friday because I can sleep in on Saturday but when you're doing it every day of the week you better have funeral arrangements ready.
