I write this message tonight not to sway people from using DirecTV's services, or to try and change peoples minds about the product the provide. I am here to just explain to you my story of an experience that I had with this company and to hope no one ever experiences the same issues.
When I moved into my new apartment, I purchased Directv, the landlord said it was okay and whatever and enjoyed the service for the most part. This past Decemeber, I was hired to work for Comcast, and obviously didnt need the dish anymore so I cancelled the services. At which time the representative explained to me that "Directv is going to sent you a box so you can send back the DVR Receiver Box." Now, because you must sign a contract with Directv's services, i unfortunately had to pay an early termination fee for cancelling early. I didnt have a problem with this. None at all, because I was following the companies policy no issue. But the issue came when I called to cancell the services, the customer service rep stated "Once we receive your DVR box, We will send you the final bill including all termination charges, which will be approximately 10 days from the date inwhich we receive the DVR back." No problem I said, but stated that I wanted to pay the bill on a different credit card then the one that I signed up with the service, of which the rep stated no problem, you can pay the final bill online or call the 800 number. Fine....
Today, I am in Jewel-Osco trying to buy groceries, and my debt card was declined, because the Directv took the payment out of my account, thus overdrawing my checking account, making me not have groceries and really pissing me off.
So I call my bank, to find out if it was infact the directv bill, and they said yes, so I call Directv us and I get some smartass "supervisor" that basically stated that Its my problem, I dont care what the rep said to you about the final statement and pretty much left me, with an overdrawn bank account and no food.
Thanks Alot Directv!
Now, working for Comcast, I see customer issues, I see them everyday, hell working for any public service company youll see issues, but most times you can work out some sort of agreement with said company, definately not this time. The way this was handled was so unfair, im so livid right now, I thought id just share this with you all.
