Evil Knievil dead at 69

Evel Knievel, the hard-living motorcycle daredevil whose jumps over Greyhound buses, live sharks and Idaho's Snake River Canyon made him an international icon in the 1970s, died Friday. He was 69.

Knievel's death was confirmed by his granddaughter, Krysten Knievel. He had been in failing health for years, suffering from diabetes and pulmonary fibrosis, an incurable condition that scarred his lungs.

I wonder if they will change the name of the SFSL Coaster. This just hasn't been Six Flags's Year. With:

Superman Accident
Stock Dropping
This
Fires Near Magic Mountain
Floods in Texas

Man karma is a real jerk.

With the name change, how about calling it "Action Stunt Coaster" or "Daredevil"?

They wont change the name, I'd actually rather them not.

This will just the biggest dedication to an amazing person.
Always loved learning about him. I have a few videos about him and stuff like that.

Rest in peace.

They will not change the name. Evel's honor of having a coaster named after him will now be a slightly posthumous one, is all. I can't think of any better way to memorialize Evil Knievel than by naming a roller coaster after him . . . or by firing his dead body into orbit so he can jump over the world.
RCDB says: "The Crystal Beach Cyclone is considered by many to be the most extreme roller coaster ever built."
