Earlier we had an intense storm. It was very windy, with lots of lightning and some hail and plenty of rain. Over an hour ago we got another storm which was much less intense, and it looks like we will be getting a 3rd storm here. This is pretty exciting.
I have been watching this stuff all evening, pretty impressive indeed..
Right now there is Nickel to Quarter size hail falling here in Plainfield.... more fun tomorrow.
Below is a surface map, A cold front is sweeping down from the Dakotas into the Great Lakes, The Great Lakes region had been under High pressure for the latter part of last week, which gave our area the nice weather over the weekend, however, as the High moved east, this Cold Front moved from the Dakotas and into the Upper Mid-West and Great Lakes region. As this cold front slides east, Severe Weather will break out ahead of the Front.
Current Doppler Radar (taken from my Doppler Radar Software)
TOMORROW'S Severe Weather Outlook:
(At typing this report )1110pm, This could change depending on where the above mentioned front is situated, however, there is once again a risk for Severe Storms Tomorrow for our area as this frontal system pushed through.
Wow, last night was pretty crazy. At one point the wind was nearly extreme, I heard things knocking against the side of my house. I have not taken a look outside yet, but I am sure plenty of branches fell from that wind last night. I'm just glad none went through my window. No power outage here though as far as I know. I heard though that people claimed there was some kind of tornado or at least extreme winds that hit the Oak Lawn area, or around there, because some parts of their houses were destroyed.
Yeah, it was REALLY nasty downtown last night! Our architecture building had water flowing under the door to get in it (poor freshies who have the basement studio ). There was really bad lighting, flooding, thunder...it was a mess, real windy, it's hard to describe it was was pretty bad...
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
Here in Bolingbrook (Southern DuPage co.), we had a few Severe T-Storm warnings and a Flash Flood warning. Water covered all the roads and sidewalks. I've never seen rain like that before.

Youll just make it up in June.
Not if its just one day that they missed, they start adding on days after about 2 or 3 missed ones. I had a team building trip with school yesturday at some Kendall county outdoor place but we had to leave early because there was a strom headed twords us and it was pouring and hailing the whole way home. Then when we got back to school there was a fire truck, an ambulance, and two cop cars there and we later figured out that it was because a girl got sturck by lightening. Not directly but it hit close to the school and traveled to the metal door that she was touching so she had to go to the hospital. Then last night I was sitting here on the computer when it really started to get windy and the windows started to rattle so I went to our back door and was just looking out side and there were people everywhere just trying to get there things back that had blown away. Then I saw some lightening and this happened more then once, but after a bolt the whole sky would turn neon blue and even sometimes neon orange. It was awful! Our power then went out at about 10:30 ish and the whole night all I heared was all kinds of sirens (not tornado sirens but firetrucks and ambulances.) The power came back on at around 3:30 in the morning. Unfortunatly we had school today but one catholic school in our town didn't and guess what. It's all supposed to happen again tonight. Joy.

Just Because You miss one day doesn't mean you automatically have to make it up, like stated above it takes around 3-4 days, then schools start adding on

Dang. Two years ago the power went out during school, early in the day and they still made us stay the whole day while we just sat in the dark. It was pretty cheap.
Jeez..I haven't gotten the day off of school since December of 2000. And that was a 14" snowstorm. I'd never expect to miss school just because of a power outage.
