I am curious as to what everybody thinks on this touchy subject.

I am for building a wall to keep illegal's from crossing. You want to enter this country, and prosper in the U.S., well how about doing it the right way, like so many other people. We have no idea who is crossing into our country. God only knows if any terrorist have just waltz right on in here, and is just waiting for the right time to kill more Ameicans. The Presidents job is to protect the security of the American people, and so far, him, and Congress are more worried about getting protential votes from illegals for their party, than protecting our country.
In a related story, the Mexican government is threating to sue the U.S. if any National Guard troops detain ANY Mexican's that are caught crossing into the country illegally. WHAT!!! Are you kidding me? Since when do we allow a foreign country to dictate what we do to protect our border? I just wish somebody in power would take a stand against this.
If it walks like socialist, quacks like socialist, smells like a socialist, .... it's a socialist. Hope, and change we can believe in.

From the Whittier Daily News California......5/19/06

NUEVO LAREDO, Mexico - Mexico warned Tuesday it would file lawsuits in U.S. courts if National Guard troops detain migrants on the border, and some officials said they fear the crackdown will force illegal crossers into more perilous areas to avoid detection.

Bush announced Monday he will send 6,000 National Guard troops to the 2,000-mile U.S.-Mexico border, but said the troops will provide intelligence and surveillance support to U.S. Border Patrol agents and will not catch and detain illegal immigrants.

"If there is a real wave of rights abuses, if we see the National Guard starting to directly participate in detaining people ... we would immediately start filing lawsuits through our consulates," Foreign Secretary Luis Ernesto Derbez said in an interview with a Mexico City radio station.

Mexican officials worry the crackdown will lead to more deaths. Since the United States toughened security at crossing spots in Texas and California in 1994, migrants have flooded Arizona's hard-to-patrol desert, and deaths have spiked.

Migrant groups estimate 500 people died trying to cross the border in 2005. The Border Patrol reported 473 deaths as of Sept. 30.

In Ciudad Juarez, Julieta Nu ez Gonzalez, the local representative of Mexico's National Immigration Institute, said Tuesday she will ask the Mexican government to send a migrant protection force, Grupo Beta, to remote sections of the border.

The dusty outpost near the New Mexico border has turned into a smugglers' haven after the U.S. Border Patrol increased its presence on the Arizona border.

Sending the National Guard "will not stop the flow of migrants. To the contrary, it will probably go up," as people try to get into the United States with hopes of applying for a possible amnesty program, Nu ez said.

Along the border in Nuevo Laredo, Carlos Gonzalez, a 23-year-old from Mexico's southern state of Chiapas, was waiting for a chance to swim across the river into Texas. He said soldiers wouldn't stop him from getting to a construction job he had lined up in North Carolina.

"Desperation gives one a lot of willpower. If they stop me 20 times, I'll arrive on the 21st," Gonzalez said resting on a street corner outside a migrant shelter.

You know what really ticks me off about this. Is that somehow we are the ones responsible for illegals trying to cross over the border ILLEGALLY. If they want to risk their lives by doing it, so let them, but don't look to blame the U.S. if they should happen to die.
Really, Mexico where is your shame? Does it not bother you that so damn many of your citizens want out.

Bush is a retard.
"There should be a B.O. squad that patrols the city like a "Smell Gestapo". To sniff 'em out, strip 'em down, and wash them with a big, soapy brush..."

Bush isn't a retard, but he's letting liberals shit all over America daily. I'm all for the wall, you wanna come in this country, you do it legally. That march on May 2 or whatever just shows how stupid people are. There's a reason they are called "illegal" immigrants.
