So I've been job searching and it looks like I will be getting another job in the coming weeks. Now, I really do hate Kmart with a passion. The company itself is probably one of the worst run companies out there today, and a lot of the cool people who work there are goign to be quitting. I could stay on and work one or two days a week, or I could just never show up again. For an answer to this important question, I call upon you, the coaster dork, for an answer. Thank you.

Nick, I worked for Kmart when they where in bankruptcy so if you think it is hell now, imagine then.

Quit that place and find a job at Best Buy or Home Depot or something like that.

Nick,

One of the guys I graduated with is now a manager at a K-Mart down here. Quit while you still have a job to quit.

Galvan has some good advice there, just find a job at another big box instead, but I don't reccomend Best Buy.

Before you quit your job, make sure you have something to fall back on. Continue your job search and once you have been offered a position with another company, then give K-Mart your two weeks notice.

i'd say quit. if you're getting another job, then quit this one. I worked two jobs for over a year, and it was tough. Remember, this is the summer before you go to college, and you might want to enjoy yourself a bit.

Kmart isn't cool. They don't even have bubble makers.
Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking, isn't thinking of.

I'd quit K-Mart. In fact, I wouldn't even apply there. I don't think any exist in Illinois anymore anyway. Bolingbrook used to have one, and it was the dirtiest store in town.

You all make great points, it's just everything I think about quitting I remember just how damn easy the job is. I know the company itself treats it's employees terribily, but atleast our managers inside the store pretty much rock.

But yeah, with a 19-0 vote, I think I'm starting to look for a new job....

...right after my 830-5 shift today

Okay, well since i'm the first to say no, here's why. First, it would be unprofessional not to give them a two week notice before quiting. It would also be wise to make sure you are 100% set up with a new job before you quit. Once both of those are done, then i guess I would say YES, screw the blue light!

Yes, leave the darkside of K-Fart (I know, I lasted two weeks working there when I was a youngling), but I agree with everybody else, make sure you have another job lined up, and give them two weeks notice.

KMART SUCKS as a corporation. I used to work at the one here in Portage, Indiana. I was banned from the store (after quitting) because some psycho i used to work with attacked me in the parking lot. The guy wasn't even fired for a long time. Whereas I, the customer who he clearly attacked on camera was banned. At the time. I had two hurneated (sp?) disks in my back and was in constant pain and even walked with a rather severe limp. I couldn't even defend myself at the time, but I was still accused of instigating the fight. It's all good because now my back is healed and I will find him someday.
