Well, I've known we've had some Yellow Jackets around the yard...but I didn't expect them inside in a nest like this....or of this size.

Image\

WOAH THERE.....They put this thing up in like 1 week....They are EVERYWHERE! It's about 12 inches across, and about 17 inches long.

The rest of the images can be seen here.

We had something like that in our backyard a few years back and the exterminator had to come late at night to spray them. I found it funny.. like a surprise attack.

Well, my uncle was cleaning out the garage in a vacation home and tripped and hit a yellow jacket hive. Got 7 stings mostly on his right arm and broke his right shoulderblade from the fall. He kept one of the bees in a paper towel, but I don't think he still has it.

I'm allergic to bees/wasps/hornets, etc. That hive would've probably scared me to death. Last time I saw one that big I got 8 stings on my hand. Quite a bad day...

yea dont mess with that thing until its night time. Bees go to sleep when it gets dark out. That is why its best to spray them very early morning or late at night. It could be worse...it could be those blue and black wasps..those things are nasty. They sting and attack for no reason

Awwww...that sucks...I have a phobia of bees. Been stung too many times as a kid....poor guy...oh well, rather be allergic to something I hate than something good. *check* Do not send bees flying at punkbunny's man.

this one time at band camp.... (no I really am serious.it happened at band camp)... We had to stand at attention...and it was a "contest" or something or we were getting disciplined for not doing something, and we COULD NOT move to save our lives otherwise we would get in trouble. So here I am, section leader who has to set a good example...and I have a wasp land on my fingers while holding my instrument. I freaked out and tried to get the thing off...and then it landed on my arm... and I am allergic to bees...wtf was I supposed to do!

Eventually we were released from attention and I ran away screaming :-d. Now that I look back on it , that was a very funny day

I'd probably $#*+ my pants if I saw that thing! I'm totally freaked out by bee nests.

What are the blue and black wasp things?

If the black and blue ones sting you become a superhero and have to wear your underwear over your pants and save people. then 10 years down the road SFI buys the rights to you and makes a bunch roller coasters with your name on them like "Bee Boy - the Hive Dive" ect.
i'm rocking the suburbs, just like quiet riot did...
