Ever since this OTF was created DIKY has created countless, useless, and therefore bad posts. Shame on you!

ugh...linux is good and bad. I tried doing an install side by side with Windows a couple times and it always resulted in tragedy. I'm thinking of building a cheap box so I can experiment with linux.
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.

yeah, but you can't do anything on Knoppix. its like, "ooh, wow, I can see what I would be able to do if I actually had a real distro!" that reminds me, though, I need to burn a copy of the new version of Knoppix now that its done downloading.

as I said, I've had trouble when going for a dual boot. I'd rather have a junk computer to get used to linux on so that if I screw something up, it doesn't matter.

Then just get a new 10-20GB HD and install Linux on that. There is absolutely nothing you can do to harm Windows from Linux, unless your Windows drive is FAT, which if you have XP, it's probably not.
