I have an MP3, but I don't own an iPod. They're too big and expensive for what I do with mine.

I just got an iPod a few days ago, and I've gotta say... it is, without a doubt, one of the best Christmas gifts I have ever gotten. Because I keep almost my entire music collection digitally, it's so nice to be able to take it ALL with me wherever I go. Pluse, apple has deisgned THE BEST user interface ever created... once you try one, you'll get hooked into iPod worl... I know that I have.

Creative Zen Xtra 40GB. $170 less than iPod. WMA support. It is the winner.

With the amount of CD's I own I wouldn't want an IPOD. But if I just downloaded music I would definitely want one.

I don't have an IPod unfortunately, but the iTunes database is fantastic, I got $25 worth of music for christmas and its so much better than napster and kazaa ever were, quality-wise.

WinMX deliver's such a high quality of music you'd be surprised that it was downloaded. The Files are probably 2-3X larger than any music I've ever downloaded from Kazaa. Not to mention it's free and doesn't have any spyware.

Hey people, havn't been here in a while.

I've got a Rio that seems to do what I need. The iPods are awesome, and I'd have gotten one of those, but they were a lot more exepnsive and I didn't need an mp3 player that badly. I do most of my listening with CDs and with satellite radio in my car.

But it's so much better than Musicmatch, Aero. You have to admit that, at least. As for me, mine is in the mail right now. My older brother has the 40 GB, but i'm just getting the 20. I really cant wait until it comes  .

I can see Aero saying something like this when he started using his iPod/iTunes:

"What the $*#% do you mean I can't incoorperate my illegially downloaded music files!?!?! WTF IS THAT!?!?

But it does let me use my downloaded music ;). I just dont like the program period. I'm a big fan of Real One player and it's interface. There is just a lot of things about itunes that bothers me. I like having control over my stuff and Apple likes streamlining (thus losing some control).

Like I've always said...Apple products are for chimps or stupid people.

...shudder...

Sorry... I just hate Real... the product is loaded with so much scumware and adware (all their own, of course). WMP10 was probably my favorite, but iTunes is growing on me, especially because I'm now using ourTunes... basiclly, it allows you to download ENTIRE CD's from anyone on your local area network who uses iTunes.... thus, it's great for a dorm. (Plus, then there are no incomplete ID3 tags.)

Well, if you know how to use a computer and know how to skim software then real one is great in my opinion. WMP is ugly as all hell as well. I like real one because its an all purpose media player, it doesnt change your files around too much and it doesnt try to take over your computer (if you know how to control the program).

And our LAN at NIU basically consists of me and my roommate as we all have indivdual DSL per room.

I use Winamp. I haven't found a single file type it can't read or doesn't have a plugin available for.

Winamp is the best way to listen to music in a lot of different forms. I download concerts and they have plugins for any file type I have. But, I like to use Windows Media Player more, its much more easier to get around and I just like the way it looks.

WinAmp is dead, AOL Cancelled development on it, Aol bought out Nullsoft a while ago, and recently they decided to stop development on it.
