Baseball - Relievers Coming in for 1 Inning - I HATE This

It's been going on for many years now with that stupid Tony La Rosa to blame for this. You have a great starting pitcher that goes for 6 innings with giving up only 1 run, and than in the 7th inning you have a new relief pitcher who probably gives up a run and then gets settled, than you have the next guy come in - They might give up a run.), and than for the closers, it's always nail-biting time. If the relief pitcher is doing good, why not leave them in? Why take them out, and than bring some other guy who has to get settled, and while doing so strands people on bases. Notice how many walks you get with new relief pitchers coming in the game. This is just dumb. Just because one coach thought of this stupid idea, why does the whole league have to do exactly the same thing? They might be doing this because of taking out the pitcher, and putting in a pitch-hitter for the pitcher, but if your defense fails because of it, why are you doing it??

It's all about saving the arms. Pitchers pitch much harder than they used to, so the arms go bad faster. Tony's not the reason for this, it started in the 70's and have become the norm in the mid-90's.

When you have so many relievers in the bullpen it is viable for managers to use specific pitchers for specific hitters or situations. You can use a pinch hitter as well for their spot in the order which can help produce runs, and most relievers aren't used to throwing for more than 2 innings max. If you don't want to blow the game late, you don't leave in a reliever.

Yeah, but pinchhitters sacrifice in my opinion defense (which is the pitcher). You say it's about saving arms, but yet these relievers go in almost every day. If you had a reliever going for 3 innings each day, it wouldn't be such a big deal to save arms in my opinion. I know starters go on every 6th day, but at the same time they are going much longer into the game than if a reliever went 3 innings. I would love to know a statistic of how many runs relievers give up to starters, and also base it on innings pitched.

^Depends on what type of reliever is brought in. Each team has the former starter reliever who can't go anymore that can pitch 6 plus IN in relief if needed. Even Matt Garza got a save last week in a series he got a win in as a starter.
