So I was wondering what you guys thought would be a good compact camera in the 150- 200$$ price range. I am currently thinking about getting the samsung TL110. Link: http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/phot ... returnurl= What do you think?

Ive had nothing but good experiences with Nikon and Cannon cameras. Those are your best bets. (in my opinion.)

We're forgetting his budget. He said he wants a point and shoot.

This seems to fit many of your requirements. It also has a nice 5x zoom.

Only $109

http://www.amazon.com/Olympus-Stylus-Di ... B0011EAA0O I have this one as well. Had it for a year or too. Very nice point and shoot camera. Waterproof and shock resistant (so you can drop it). It's served me well, and still does when I can't bring my SLR to Six Flags 'cause of stupid lockers.

What he said. My previous camera was also a NIKON point and shoot; it went through hell and back and still takes nice pics.

I use a Nikon P80, there have been two newer models released since then; the only real improvement in them is a longer zoom but quality isn't as great from what I hear. It's pricey...ish, but you get alot for your money.

It is a point and shoot, but has TONS of manual features; and if you really learn how to use it you can get SLR-quality photos with it. Be careful about running it in full-auto mode, anything not in the bright sun will be extremely noisy/grainy. Most of what it does pick up, however, I can eliminate in Photoshop.
