You walk into the park on April 12, 2013, SFGAm's opening day. As your driving in you notice something at the back of the park that wasn't there before. You go to customer service and ask, "whats that new big coaster at the back of the park?" She answers "Its our new wooden coaster, AE2, or American Eagle 2.0." She hands you a brochure of the new ride. At the front it says "Be ready to soar like never before on the new American Eagle 2.0!" Your looking at the stats of the ride on the back of the brochure. Height: 186 ft. tall Speed: 75 MPH Drop: 80 Degrees Length: 5,589 ft.
You immidiatley go to the back of the park, where the Original American Eagle once stood. As you walk under the sign for the ride, you realize what you've gotten into. A racing, new generation, out and back Intamin woodie. It is painted just like the original. You decide to pick the red side, your prefered side on the old coaster. You walk into the re-furbished, repainted que house with a minimal line. You go to the back of the row, your favorite spot on the original Eagle. The operater says "Enjoy you ride, on the brand new AE2.
You turn out of the station 180 degrees to the right, immidiatley going in to a short drop which gives you a nice pop of air time. You do a slight turn and meet back up with the blue side. As you start up the speedy lift hill you realize that this coaster is using cable lift hill, unlike the traditional chain lift. As you get to the top, you realize how high you really are, just a few feet shorter then Raging Bull. You crest the lifthill, and you start your ride.
The drop blows you away as your going 10 degrees short of straight down, on a wooden coaster! You really realize the speed of this coaster once your at the bottom of the drop. It is much better then Raging Bull, or V2's speed. You are suddenly traveling up a high incline, tight 105 foot hill, which catches you off guard, as the original coaster has small long small hills. The air time THROWS you into your lapbar like you've never felt before. Now your going up another hill, this time 90 feet. You almost know what coming. Once again you get amazing airtime. You are glad you picked the back seat.
Again you go up a hill, this time hitting a short trim, which doesnt seem to cut much speed. You do a el toro type turn that takes you to the left at almost 90 degrees, and brings you back towards the station, and down to ground level.
^How the blue train would look on this turn.
Once your on ground level you hit 4 boulderdash like bunny hops, which again send you flying.
Similiar to this one.
After the 4 bunny hops you turn 90 degrees to your left, going through 2 90 degree helixes before hitting the brake run, and going back into the station.
There is something special about this ride, you know it. Its your favorite at the park, and also of all time.
In Fall 2013 AE wins the Golden Ticket for 1# Wooden Coaster
Top 5: 1) El Toro. 2) Maverick. 3) Millenium Force. 4) Diamondback. 5) X2. Coaster Count: 167 (41 Wood, 125 Steel) @Coaster_Cole on Twitter
Interesting that you would pick 12 April, my birthday as opening day 2013. This ride, and newer wooden coasters in general, is/are pretty awesome. But sadly the chances of it happening are exactly zero. Don't forget a station fly through to go along with a highly banked curved helix at the end =)

From what I've heard, current zoning regulations in Illinois state that a rollercoaster must be 300' from a road and when Eagle was put up it was only 100'. So, I believe we are stuck with Eagle for the forseeable future, unless GAm built a south parking lot and stole some of the north for a new coaster.

Eagle will not be going down anytime soon. It is safer than Whizzer/Demon/Wolf combined.

Well, Wolf didn't crash or get stuck upside down so that would be the safest.
