Why would they want to buy the polyp? We already have almost the exact same thing. (East river crawler)

in my opinion, no it's not. The Polyp was superior to the ride that is in Yankee Harbor. The lighting in my opinion was better, and the cars being stuck to the ride was awesome. Parents would scream like babies on the Polyp (kind of like Fiddler's Fling, but East River Crawler is just wimpy). The East River Crawler is boring unless you can get the car to spin.

It is worth noting that East River Crawler runs at reduced speed and runs a very simple program. It's capabilities are far beyond what you may think. There are a lot of traveling Schwarzkopf Monster III's in Europe, it's almost like a totally different ride.

I just found the Polyp more Intense and Better Overall than Crawler. I Know its the Same Ride, but with Shapiro, I wouldn't be surprised.

^Again, they aren't the same ride. They have different forces on each ride. The Polyp is more like a Scrambler up in the air as it forces you into one side of the seat. The East River Crawler the cars go every which way. If the cars on East River Crawler were bolted to stay still, I still think that the Polyp has a more degrees on it's side when it's raising up in the air than East River Crawler does. Even if you constantly spin the cars on the East River Crawler, it still wouldn't feel the same either way because it would feel more like the teacups up in the air than a Scrambler.

I just find it amazing that when Kiddieland is about to close for the last time, you see a lot of Kiddieland rides on youtube, but 2 years ago, I couldn't find the Polyp on there.

That's cause Polyp hadn't run in 2+ years. They got it running the last weekend mainly to try and increase it's value at auction.

Mechanically they are the same ride, Polyp has stationary cars and ERC has spinning cars. That's the only difference.
