Lets not jump to conclusions. I've never been on a flow rider, but I've watched others intensely. They may not look like anything special at first glance, but they can rip a bikini top off a girl faster than you can blink your eyes. The bigger they are, the faster they fall
I vote for a flow rider!
Favorite Wood Coasters: The Voyage, Ravine Flyer II, Thunderhead, Balder Favorite Steel: Voltron Nevera, Steel Vengeance, Expedition GeForce, Olympia Looping Parks visited: 232, Coasters Ridden: Steel: 894, Wood: 179, Total: 1073
I went on the one that is at beaches turks and caicos: (you have to scroll through the photos to see it.) http://www.beaches.com/main/tc/tc-highlight3.cfm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; They only allowed us to bogeyboard due to the fact that its a kids resort, but it was extreamly fun! the bad part was that it had terrible capacity and the line took forever even when there were only 15- 20 people there.
Oh gosh, men... That is exactly why someone like me wouldn't go on it, because I have no idea how to skateboard, surf, or any of that stuff, and I would fall flat on my face. Wouldn't something like this hurt people?

If this does occur, the park would have a few options but they'd probably choose to scrap the older ride...or convert the proposed new ride with a different kind of train (which would probably be unlikely)
This guy was right about Chang! Too bad we lost it (supposedly) and Wolf is still here.
I'm not sure the park would ever do it- but an Intamin ZacSpin [http://www.rcdb.com/4309.htm?p=24899]would fit easily in the former SWF area. They're pretty cheap too- I believe around 7 million. Best of all- they're 4th Dimension! I wonder if the capacity is too low though, I think they're only about 600-700rph.
Top 5 Steel: 1. Kingda Ka. 2. Top Thrill Dragster. 3. Skyrush. 4. Maverick. 5. Millenium Force. Top 5 Wood: 1. El Toro. 2. The Voyage. 3. Phoenix. 4. Thunderhead. 5. Thunderbolt.
A flowrider?? Are you crazy, they have those in the Dells and the ride capacity is HORRIBLE. You practically need to reserve a time for it.
Water park expansion would be typical, expected, and boring. I guess that is what we should expect in the end.
I guess as long as my season pass price is below $60 with the 20% coupon I will not complain but it sure is disappointing that we will be "thrill-less" yet another year.
If only I lived closer to Cedar Point I would make it my mainstay, at least they make an effort each year to build a new ride. Not expand Soak City, not install a "splash battle", and not install an indoor wild mouse.
See this is what I don't get. Cedar point gets Wicked twister in 2003, an intamin ride. They have to add supports a few years later. Then they get TTD in 2004, an intamin ride. When it opens the car changes three seperate times before it go to its design it is now. Then they get Maverick in 2007 another intamin ride, and they find out that they have to remove the heartline roll. Then they get STR in 2010 and they have to delay the opening about an entire month and the back row isnt operating still. Now they are buying a prototype intamin coaster in 2011. Are they just plain stupid?

I would much rather deal with ride delays and changes if it meant Great America actually got a damn coaster. At least CP attempts.
Continue to justify water and family rides and water park expansion though... I know most here hate CP.
And a one month delay on Shoot the Rapids, I guess its better than Deja Vu NEVER operating at GAm. Plus I think GAm isn't without its flaws. V2 losing its holding break, Iron Wolf having the wrong trains making it a hated ride, American Eagle barely operating how it should.
I would much rather deal with a ride like Maverick here and waiting for its heartline roll to be removed then to watch a new portion of water park being installed.
The park is killing the last place for further expansion. The park is killing it's future. The park had this one chance to add a thrill addition and make it a good one. And here comes along Weber and changes everything. Bull. And not Raging Bull.
Don't get all pissy because of rumors. But he is ruining everything. Have the hours in the park been slashed a good amount too? What about season pass holder day? Just wondering if it happened to Great America too.

Or they could take out some rides to add news one like any park should do.
But you see, all of our current rides are in perfect condition.
Don't even go there. Iron Wolf is the hardest spot to fit something.
He's slashing hours at parks that don't bring in as many people. I think Magic Mountain, Great Adventure. Over Georgia, and Great America aren't getting cuts.
^Great America had hours cut. The 11:00pm closings July 2nd-July 5th, and August 4th - August 8th have been changed to 10:00pm. Fright Fest Saturdays have been cut back to 10:00pm from the originally scheduled 11:00pm, and Fright Fest Sundays have been cut back to 9:00pm from the originally scheduled 10:00pm.

So now you're going to start flaming about Al Weber? And you were all anti-Shapiro...
What a Contradiction.

OK Cedar Point is one of the best parks for coasters in the world and SFGAm isn't we know that, how about moving on? Cedar Point doesn't have anything to do with SFGAm. If you want to go to CP and are just going to bash other parks for not being as good then just go to CP and have fun there, no need to go to other parks if you are just going to complain how they are inferior. In my opinion Six Flags Magic Mountain is a better park for coasters than CP and i've been to both several times. I guess this means I never want to return to CP again unless they have a low season pass price
In regards to CF and Intamin, i've been to Knotts Berry Farm many times and Xcelerator was operating half of those visits if not less. Last time I went to CP: Dragster, Millennium Force, and Maverick all opened late. We got in line for Maverick early in the day and it broke down, then got in line for MF and it broke down, then got in line for TTD and it broke down, then got in line for WT and it broke down. That night we got in line for Maverick and it broke down at least 3 or 4 times while we were in line. Dick Kinzel has said to investors that TTD was the worst purchase he's ever made, period, and if he knew how many problems they were going to have with it they never would have bought it. If you would rather get a season pass for Cedar Point then that's fine and and it is probably a better purchase for you, SF is trying to get people who will go there and spend money for their whole family so stop whining about it here.

Building a standup coaster would have been bizarre and dumb. SFGAm is better off removing rides to build new ones anyway as they already have a lot and struggle to keep the ones they have open. Your constant over-reacting to everything is getting old.

When Shapiro was first introduced as CEO the stock price was around $15 and a couple years later it was worth something like 50 cents a share and was so low for a sustained amount of time that they got kicked off the stock exchange. It's clear Al Weber wants to post a profit this quarter and is doing as much as possible to make that happen. Six Flags was recently re-introduced on the NYSE and the last thing he wants is the stock price to take a nose-dive again, which is very possible if they come out and post a loss their first quarter being back on the exchange.
