Scary Movie 4...... funny in some parts, other parts were really crappy humor. Tom Cruise on Oprah, Dr. Phil, Brokeback Mountain, and The Grudge parts were funy, the rest of it was a sad attempt at humor. Still, good for some stupid laughs.
7/10
"And that farm girl walked off with slippers off a dead woman? She must have been raised in a barn!" ~Wicked, an excellent musical
I just saw "Scary Movie 4" and it was awesome! It was really funny and made fun of five movies. It made fun of "Saw", "The Grudge", "War of the Worlds", "The Village", and "Brockback Mountain". the best part was at the end where the one guy was getting torchured(Sp) and the saw guy said, "Yes, that's right! Try to get out of this one!" Then the other guy said, "What are you doing to me?!" Then Jigsaw said, "Ha, ha, ha, ha! Enjoy you're purple nurple!!!!"
Oh, and i was the first one to buy a ticket for it at that movie theatre!!!
Wow... yeah that was the best part...... sadly, it's not a very good part... Alot of the humor was very immature or involved getting hit on the head. Not even Leslie Nielson's naked ass was funny.

Not scary, but a very good movie. It is one of the only movies where its alot of gore and stuff but alot of plot. One of the movies that you cant stop until you see the end.
Donnie Darko: Awesome movie, if you liked the Butterfly Effect this one will make you hate it. It's about a kid named Donnie that has this "imaginary" friend named Frank. Frank helps him and then after this happens everything gets worse. I really recommend you see this, it will blow you away. 5/5
These aren't movies but I'm not going to start a new Thread. I just got back from NYC and I saw three shows on Broadway
Wicked: Even people who never listen to or hear about musicals have heard of this one. It came highly reccomended and it didn't disappoint, I had a lot of fun in it and the talent was incredible. Glinda was a standby the night I saw it and she kicked ass but Alphaba stole the show big time, totally blew me away.
Spamalot: Basically a musical version of Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail. And thats what it really was. The 1st act was basically the same humor from the movie but I still liked it a lot. The 2nd act was newer jokes that were really funny as well. It was a good musical that had a lot of humor in it, but it was nothing compared to...
Avenue Q: Wow. This was a dirty version of Sesame Street. It's a bunch of puppets being controlled by the people on stage showing what it's like to be living in NYC. I loved it. The humor was incrediblly funny and the actors did an outstanding job controlling the puppets and their voices. At times 1 person would have 2 puppets talking to eachother and wouldn't have a problem changing voices between them. The soundtrack is helarious with songs titled "The internet is for Porn and others, but you really need to see this show to like it as much as we all did.
Look for a review on Silent Hill later.

^I have heard from those who did that said it was good. I believe it is still playing at the AMC River East 21 theator in Chicago. I can give you the address if you want, it's downtown on E. Illinois Street just east of Michigan Avenue.
EDIT: I just checked, it is still playing and it is showing just about every hour!!
Also, w00dland, where is Avenue Q playing at? I've never heard of it and it sounds interesting.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
Tony, Avenue Q is playing on Broadway in NYC, thats where I saw all 3 shows.
Silent Hill: Damnit, I really had some high hopes for this movie because it looked pretty good from the trailers. Too bad it wasn't. As many horror movies can get, this one got repetitive in the first 20 minutes and I think if I heard the "horn" 1 more time I would have left the theater. It was very predictable, and the only real part I liked in the movie was the sense of evil on both sides of the story. (usually it's good fighting evil)
Anyways, don't see it. 1/5

I had recently bought Silent Hill 4: The Room to give it a try. Never thinking it could be as good as Resident Evil. But I played it and sure enough it was amazing. So, now I had to see the movie.
The movie is confusing at times, but it is very disturbing. I felt like I was in someone's nightmare. The demons were terrifying (especially the one I like to call Triangle Man). I'd say this is the best video game adaptation to date. The music was incredible (same guy who did the music for the game). It was more....loud rythic sounds most of the time, which added to the intensity. This movie is deffinately something I'm getting on DVD and has inspired me to seek out the rest of the video game series.
Psst.... go see it.

Wow, that stinks because ours had an advanced screening and it has been there for the past two weeks AT LEAST! I remember seeing Benchwarmers while others were seeing that!

I saw Thank You For Smoking a few weeks ago. It had comedy of might. Made me think too..... which is a dangerous thing. So, I won't go into detail. Come out to AMC 30 in South Barrington. It's playing there.

just saw Memoirs of a Geisha. dialog was really hard to understand, but that could just be the set that we watched the movie on and that my friends were talking to each other during the movie.
really, really good story, though not exactly a good role-model movie for girls. its not overly chick-flickish, but if you're looking for a good drama, pick it up.
also, I nearly had a heart attack when I saw that John Williams scored it because I would have never recognized it espically after seeing...
Minority Report I saw last night. it was all right, but could have had some fat trimmed off it. I would have expected something better from Spielberg espically when it concerns such a real topic. I'd guess that the problems with the story go back to the script even. but the music! oh my god, the music was lifted straight from The Phantom Menace! ugh!
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.
I just saw The Sentinel on Friday night. It was amazingly good, and intense. Keifer Sutherland is basically one of my favorite actors, and watching this was like watching 24. Best part had to be when the police SUV ran into the smaller police vehicle.
good, if you played Silent hill 3 you will love the movie. It was not scary though, just creepy. I liked it, dont listen to the critics go see this one.
3/4 Stars

Thank you For Smoking.: Good stuff all the way around. It's a comedy that you have to be older to understand most of the humor, it's got a good story and a few helarious parts but mostly just things that make you giggle and smile. It was one of the better movies I've seen in 2006 so far, great acting with great writing and a great story. I'd recommend it to anyone...4/5

Okay, well, after a lot of going back and forth with myself, i ended up seeing....
United 93: It was first of all, very intense. I ain't gonna lie, it took most of the theator a couple of minutes to get up from their seats and it is almost impossible to leave without tears in your eyes. It was a really good movie, though, a little boring in parts because of the what seemed to be endless scenes of events in the air traffic controller rooms. The other thing was that i was at the only theator downtown that was showing it and we had a couple pilots and one supposed relative to one the victims in our theater so it was kind of a serious thing. Anyway, not bad but very upseting. The good news was that I was on NBC news last night riding the escalator while they were interviewing the pilot. 4/5
However as an uplifter, me and my friend also watched
Little Rascals: A great movie, everyone knows that!!
Just Friends: This is that movie with Ryan Reynalds aka. Van Wilder where he was a fat kid in high school and was stuck in the Just Friends catagory in high school with this hot girl he was close to. The rest of the movie dealt with him trying to become more than that, and to escape from this insane girl he was with. Anyway, I enjoyed it very much, it seemed a lot like the typical Ryan Reynalds movie (with the exception of Amityville). 4/5
EDITED on 5/12/06:
Poseidon: Let me be the first to tell you guys this is definitely a must see this year!! Despite the fact that Perfect Storm and Troy both sucked IMHO, this movie was amazing. Your heart will not stop racing the entire time, the movie starts right away on the boat and the action is non stop until the end. Definitely one of my favorites all year! 5/5
Fun with Dick and Jane: I'm not really a fan of Jim Carey, but i always give him a chance anyways. This was a good movie, but not the best thing i've ever seen, there were a few funny parts and a pretty decent ending. 3/5
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
I just rented When A Stranger Calls. It was kinda boring considering things don't even begin to happen until after the first hour and the ending was stupid and kinda sad so, yeah, not a great movie. 2/5
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
I went to see this last night with a few friends. I read the book about a year and a half ago, so I didn't remember many of the finer details. I had also seen that many of the critics thought the movie was terrible.
I beg to differ.
I was into the movie from start to finish. Most of it kept me on the edge of my seat, and, if I hadn't read the book, the twists would've definitely suprised me. There were a couple moments that made you jump out of your seat, and a couple one-liners had the whole theater laughing as well. For some reason, the whole movie I kept thinking National Treasure because they seemed to similar to me. In my opinion, the acting was superb, especially whoever it was who played Silas, the albino monk. I thought it was a well-crafted movie, and my only complaint would be the ending being a little drawn out. Other than that, I recommend it to anyone looking for a fun adventure flick. 4.5/5
