Weird Problem With The Internet...

A Off-Topic forum to discuss things that aren't related to the Amusement Park Industry.

For a while now I have had this sort of problem with certain browsers on this computer. It doesn't happen on any of the other computers, (although it did on one for a while when I used to use it), and it was fine at first on this one but for a while now it's been happening. Mozilla won't work at all, it always says "website not found". On IE, once in a while it will say cannot find server. Once I refresh it, it works. This happens maybe every 10 minutes, and when I first open up the browser. Soon IE might not work at all, because Firefox went through the same once-in-a-while thing, and now doesn't work.

It is really frustrating and I don't know how to fix it. Any ideas on what could be wrong? I hate using internet explorer, and I wanna start using Firefox again.

Reimage your hard drive and that should fix the problem.

Reimaging the hard drive means erasing everything on it by reinstalling Windows, so that is how it came back from the factory. It's good to do every few years since computers build up a lot of gobbledegook that you don't need anymore and just slow it down. To reimage it, just reinsert your Windows disc. Shut down the computer. When you restart it and see the manufacturer's screen before the Windows screen appears, slide your finger across the function keys (F1-F12). One of them will open the boot menu. (On Windows XP, the Windows screen is the XP logo with a blue bar sliding across underneath. On older versions of Windows, it is a full screen image of Windows floating on some clouds or some other similar image.) A Windows installation screen will appear (MS-DOS style), and you can reinstall your operating system. Make sure you back everything up that you still want to save.

I figured that was it, but wasn't sure. I really don't want to do that though.

Formatting is a drastic measure, and for an inexperienced user, can be tough if not impossible.

Have you checked to make sure you don't have any viriuses or spyware? Microsoft Spyware Removal is a good option, spybot is also good.

For your mozilla, are you sure your connection settings are correct? I have mine set to Direct Connection to the Internet, since I don't have to use a proxy.

No viruses. I even have about 5 different virus/spyware protection programs, including Microsoft Spyware Removal. And my connection settings are correct. I don't use a proxy.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!
