For its part, AOL says it remains committed to Winamp, stating it is "a thriving product that AOL continues to support and will continue to support."

I love iTunes and always will. And aero, if Macs are for stupid people then why do most teachers use them? If you have Limewire and iTunes, then you can download music off of Limewire straight to iTunes.
How much longer can I last until Opening Day! ARRRRGH!

Teachers use macs because schools are too cheap to update their computers.

I'd have to agree with Deja Vu the Ride here. Either that or they want to make sure it's impossible for their teachers to do anything that they aren't supposted to do because, common, it's a mac.

Haha, then i guess my old Spanish teacher should've had a mac, she was forced to resign because a student caught her looking at porn during school!

Just because your a teacher doesn't mean that your good with computers. Sure, they can do grades and power points but I can do so much more on a computer. I like having complete control over everything of mine.

Well, Apple has canned the Old Monochrome 20gig 4g iPods, and are now selling the 20gig Color iPod at a CHEEPER price.

Luckly I had a tip from a friend and sold my iPod 1 week before the new ones hit the shelfs.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5786702895

I got 270ish for it, and got a new Color (after Educator's discount) for 280.00 (I hate Tax).

This thing kicks. I manually had to go through and drag album art to all my CD's.

Anyways, just thought I would update...and bump one of the original Off Topic Forum topics.

W00dland.. I wish you luck. I also purchased a 6 GB mini about 2 months ago (free laser engraving : ) ) I recommend opening the iTrip very carefully as I gaurantee you will want to return it after attempting to use it once or twice. I gaurantee it.

It got VERY poor reception on every availble channel. Youll find yourself holding it in your hand waving it around your vehicle like a madman.

If you experience the same problem as i did, I suggest you get one of these

if you car has a cassette adapter. (I wired mine so that the wire goes through the back of the radio and into the glovebox. Not very hard)
It costs bout 10$ at walmart, gets pretty good sound quality.

Or you can always buy the iCruze adapter and accesories (300$+)

I AGREE 100%..iTrip is a GRADE A piece of CRAP! Be VERY careful opening it so you wont get charged the 15% open box crap.

iTrip sucks bad. Quality is horrid. Cost is outragous.

I use one of those Minijack (1/8th inch) to cassett and that works wonders. Only problem is that many cars don't have cassett players anymore.

But the number of 3rd party addons for the iPod is crazy. I suggest going to http://www.ipodlounge.com and read reviews on the forums.

Myself, I'm waiting for Agent18 to make a Clear Case that will protect my 20gig color. My old one is too small.

Yeah, I would use the cassete adaptor that I've had for years now the only problem is none of the cars I or my family owns have a tape deck. I'll shop around though.

This may help.

I have the last one on the page and it works well. Got it at RadioShack a few years ago for around $20.

Use a headphone to FM modulator. They can be bought for $10-20 at any Target, Wal-mart, or Radioshack. I use one for my CD player and DVD player. Tune your radio to 88.1,88.3,88.5, or 88.7 FM and play away.
It's fun to watch a movie on the DVD player and have surround sound throughout the car. :D

Mini-jack - that's one size smaller than headphone right?

If that is the case - you can buy an adapter at radioshack that snaps over the end of the headphone jack and plugs into a mini jack. It will only cost about $3 for the adapter.
It's the most fun in the park when your laughing in the dark.

I ended up buying the Griffen iTrip Mini. So far so good in my room. I'm operating on 89.3 FM and so far you can get it on any digital tuner in the house. I'm gonna go try my car now and see how that works.

Only thing with iPods -- can you rip your CDs to it and also wondering, is iTunes the only music download prog you can use with that or can I use Ares or say, Walmart music downloads? I tend to like the Creative Labs players more for that reason. I just bought a Creative Zen Micro 5GB this morning....not a bad player from what I've seen so far.

Yes, you can rip CD's to it, but I'm not sure about your second question. I've had my iPod for a while and I can honestly say it is definitely worth the money.

If Wallmart allows you to download in MP3 format with no DRM then you can use it with your iPod. You go into iTunes go to File, Import File, and select the file. Napster wont work nor will Real Rhapsody.
